"I Just Want to See the Boy Happy" is the fourth and final single from the album ''Ringleader of the Tormentors'' by Morrissey. The single was released on 4 December 2006. The title track was written by Morrissey and Jesse Tobias. Released the day after Morrissey began a five date arena tour in the UK, the single performed respectably, considering it was the fourth off the album, peaking at number 16 in the UK Singles Chart. Described by ''NME'' as "Mozza at his mic-lead whipping best", the track received largely positive reviews, with the ''Manchester Evening News'' awarding it a 5/5 mark and declaring the song "reminiscent of his early work with the Smiths, this is an excellent single." "A 12" picture disc of the track was released on 22 January 2007 which included all the B-sides on one disc and was limited to 1000 copies. Steven Patrick Morrissey (; born 22 May 1959), known professionally as Morrissey, is an English singer and songwriter. Alain Gordon Whyte (pronounced Alan) (born 3 July 1967) is an English musician, songwriter, composer and singer. He was Morrissey's main songwriting partner and guitarist between 1991 and 2007. Prior to 1991, Whyte previously been in the bands Rugcutters, Red Lightning, Motivators, Born Bad and the Memphis Sinners. More recently, he has written for Madonna, Chris Brown, and the Black Eyed Peas, and others. Kristeen Young (born 1975) is an American singer-songwriter and pianist. Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Young began playing piano as a child. She has released seven studio albums. Michael Kevin Farrell is an American keyboardist, musical director, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, best known for his work both recording and touring with Alanis Morissette, Morrissey and Macy Gray. Gary Edward William Day (born 27 June 1965) is a British musician known for playing bass for Morrissey, The Gazmen, The Nitros, Carlos and the Bandidos, and The Poncés. Early life Day learned the double bass in his late teens, the Rockabilly slap-style of playing after being influenced by the UK Rock 'n' Roll and Psychobilly scene bands, especially The Meteors and their bass player Nigel Lewis.
