I Believe In You (Paul Haig Song)
"I Believe in You" is the first single from Paul Haig's proposed second album on Circa Records, ''Right on Line''. Ultimately, the lack of success with this single and its follow-up, "Flight X", persuaded Circa to drop Haig and shelve the album. ''Right on Line'' contained tracks produced by James Locke (of The Chimes), Lil Louis and Mantronik. The album did eventually surface three years later on Les Disques Du Crepuscule, retitled as ''Coincidence vs Fate ''Coincidence vs Fate'' is the fourth album released by Edinburgh musician Paul Haig. He was originally a member of post-punk band Josef K, active between 1979 and 1982. Early life Haig was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, and grew up in middle class Oxgangs. His father was an owner of a fiberglass factory and his mother a secretary for a dental practice. His earliest memories of music were listening to Beatles records on his parent’s Stereogram. Though not from a musical family, his father bought him his first guitar at age 12. On his father’s advice, he first learned to play by ear, humming the melody until he could work out the parts. ''Coincidence vs Fate'' is the fourth album released by Edinburgh musician Paul Haig. The album was released by Belgian independent label, Les Disques Du Crepuscule in 1993. The album was originally recorded in New York City and Chicago in 1989. The album was financed by Virgin Records subsidiary Circa who had released Paul's previous album ''Chain''. After the lead single, "I Believe in You", failed to make any impression on the charts, Circa decided to cut their losses and the album - to be called ''Right On Line'' - was shelved. As they had done in the past, Les Disques Du Crepuscule came to the rescue, stepped in and bought the rights. The album has a very heavy Chicago house sound. The Chimes were a British dance music trio, which consisted of Pauline Henry (born in Jamaica) with Mike Peden and James Locke from Edinburgh, Scotland. They are best known for their hits "Heaven" and a remake of U2's "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For", which became a UK top 10 hit. Chart success In the US, they reached the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 with the song " 1-2-3", at No. 86 in 1990.
