Tank Phone
A Tank phone (also called a Tank telephone, Grunt phone, Tank-Infantry Phone, TIP, Infantry Tank Telephone, ITT, or Infantry phone) is a telephone mounted on the exterior of armoured vehicles to facilitate communication between people outside of the vehicle and those inside, whilst avoiding the tank crew becoming exposed to enemy fire. Purpose Communication between infantry and tanks may be possible via radio and other means. However, it is more efficient and reliable to provide a tank phone mounted typically on the rear of the tank in a small box that contains a standard telephone handset which infantrymen may use to speak directly to the tank commander. Infantrymen may thus direct the tank's fire, which they are better placed to do as the tank crew will typically have their vision impeded by being buttoned up within the tank. The typical method of doing this is using the present direction of the tank gun as a reference point and moving it onto the target from there using up/down ...

Intuitionistic Type Theory
Intuitionistic type theory (also known as constructive type theory, or Martin-Löf type theory) is a type theory and an alternative foundation of mathematics. Intuitionistic type theory was created by Per Martin-Löf, a Swedish mathematician and philosopher, who first published it in 1972. There are multiple versions of the type theory: Martin-Löf proposed both intensional and extensional variants of the theory and early impredicative versions, shown to be inconsistent by Girard's paradox, gave way to predicative versions. However, all versions keep the core design of constructive logic using dependent types. Design Martin-Löf designed the type theory on the principles of mathematical constructivism. Constructivism requires any existence proof to contain a "witness". So, any proof of "there exists a prime greater than 1000" must identify a specific number that is both prime and greater than 1000. Intuitionistic type theory accomplished this design goal by internalizing the ...

Invitation To Tender
An invitation to tender (ITT, otherwise known as a call for bids or a request for tenders) is a formal, structured procedure for generating competing offers from different potential suppliers or contractors looking to obtain an award of business activity in works, supply, or service contracts, often from companies who have been previously assessed for suitability by means of a supplier questionnaire (SQ) or pre-qualification questionnaire (PQQ). The term "notice inviting tenders" (NIT) is often used in purchasing in India. An ITT differs from a request for quotation (RFQ) or a request for proposal (RFP), in which case other reasons (technology used, quality) might cause or allow choice of the second best offer. An RFP is a request for a price from a buyer but the buyer would also expect suggestions and ideas on how the project work should be done. RFPs are thus focused on more than just pricing/cost, they entail a bit of consulting from the contractor or vendor. The closest equi ...

ITT Technical Institute
ITT Technical Institute (ITT Tech) was a private for-profit technical institute with its headquarters in Carmel, Indiana and many campuses throughout the United States. Founded in 1969 and growing to 130 campuses in 38 states of the United States, ITT Tech was one of the largest for-profit educators in the US before it closed in 2016. The institute was owned and operated by ITT Educational Services, Inc. (), a publicly-traded company headquartered in Carmel. The company also owned and operated the Breckinridge School of Nursing and Health Sciences schools. In 1998, an ITT Tech whistleblower reported on the school's use of predatory recruitment practices. In 2004, federal agents raided campuses in 10 states. However, the school continued to settle legal cases and collect billions of dollars in Pell Grants and federal student loans. Institute Of Technology, Tallaght
The Institute of Technology Tallaght (also known as ITT or IT Tallaght) (Irish: ''Institiúid Teicneolaíochta, Tamhlacht)'' was a third-level institution in Tallaght, the largest suburb of Dublin, Ireland. Established in 1992, IT Tallaght offered degree and postgraduate courses as well as adult education courses. On 1 January 2019 it was dissolved and its operations merged into the new Technological University Dublin (TUD). Its campus is now the Tallaght Campus of TUD. History The institute was established as Tallaght Regional Technical College, in 1992, and was at the time the final new Regional Technical College opened in Ireland. It was built on lands donated for educational use to the Irish government by the Dominican Orders, St. Mary's Priory lands, in Tallaght. Qualifications were accredited by the NCEA (the forerunner to HETAC). The institute adopted the abbreviated title of "ITT Dublin" in 2005, to differentiate it from IT Tralee; this did not change the legal name ...

Cousin Itt
Cousin Itt is a fictional character in the ''Addams Family'' television and film series. He was developed specifically for the 1964 television series and is a regular supporting character in subsequent motion-picture, television and stage adaptations. Character background Cousin Itt is a diminutive, hirsute being, his visible form composed entirely of floor-length blonde hair. He has an IQ of 320, is often attired in bowler hat and round sunglasses, and speaks in a high-pitched gibberish that is understood only by his family. As he was created specifically for the television series, illustrations of the character by cartoonist Charles Addams followed the show's debut, first in a single-panel sketch showing Itt on the telephone ("This is It speaking"), and later in family-portrait artwork. He drives a ''Messerschmitt Kabinenroller''. Appearances Television Cousin Itt is introduced in the television series as the cousin of family patriarch Gomez Addams. He is an occasional guest in ...

He is regarded as the pioneer of Afrobeat, a Nigerian music genre that combines West African music with American funk and jazz. At the height of his popularity, he was referred to as one of Africa's most "challenging and charismatic music performers". AllMusic described him as a musical and sociopolitical voice of international significance. Kuti was the son of Nigerian women's rights activist Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti. After early experiences abroad, he and his band Africa 70 (featuring drummer and musical director Tony Allen) shot to stardom in Nigeria during the 1970s, during which he was an outspoken critic and target of Nigeria's military juntas. In 1970, he founded the Kalakuta Republic commune, which declared itself independent from military rule. Th ...

Insulin Tolerance Test
An insulin tolerance test (ITT) is a medical diagnostic procedure during which insulin is injected into a patient's vein, after which blood glucose is measured at regular intervals. This procedure is performed to assess pituitary function, adrenal function, insulin sensitivity, and sometimes for other purposes. An ITT is usually ordered and interpreted by endocrinologists. When used to assess insulin sensitivity, a standard dose of insulin is administered, and blood glucose is monitored with frequent sampling; the plasma glucose disappearance rate (KITT) indicates the degree of whole-body insulin sensitivity, and correlates well with the gold-standard glucose clamp technique. When used for assessing the integrity of the hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal axis (HPA), insulin injections are continued to the point of inducing extreme hypoglycemia below 2.2 mmol/L (40 mg/dL). Patient must have symptomatic neuroglycopenia to trigger counter-regulatory cascade. Glucose levels ...
