ISO 20022
ISO 20022 is an ISO standard for electronic data interchange between financial institutions. It describes a metadata repository containing descriptions of messages and business processes, and a maintenance process for the repository content. The standard covers financial information transferred between financial institutions that includes payment transactions, securities trading and settlement information, credit and debit card transactions and other financial information. The repository contains a huge amount of financial services metadata that has been shared and standardized across the industry. The metadata is stored in UML models with a special ISO 20022 UML Profile. Underlying all of this is the ISO 20022 metamodel - a model of the models. ISO 8583
ISO 8583 is an international standard for ''financial transaction card originated'' interchange messaging. It is the International Organization for Standardization standard for systems that exchange electronic transactions initiated by cardholders using payment cards. ISO 8583 defines a message format and a communication flow so that different systems can exchange these transaction requests and responses. The vast majority of transactions made when a customer uses a card to make a payment in a store (EFTPOS) use ISO 8583 at some point in the communication chain, as do transactions made at ATMs. In particular, the Mastercard, Visa Inc., Visa and Verve International, Verve networks base their authorization communications on the ISO 8583 standard, as do many other institutions and networks. ISO 10962
ISO 10962, generally known as CFI (Classification of Financial Instruments) is a six-letter-code used in the financial services industry to classify and describe the structure and function of a financial instrument (in the form of security or contract). It is an international standard approved by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Since 1 July 2017, each financial instrument should receive a CFI at the same time it is allocated an ISIN (International Security Identification Number) by the respective National Numbering Agency (NNA). The CFI is attributed to a financial instrument at the time when the financial instrument is issued; it will normally not change during the life of that instrument. The New Payments Platform (NPP), operated by New Payments Platform Australia Ltd (NPPA) is an industry-wide payments platform for Australia, national infrastructure for fast, flexible, data rich payments in Australia. It was first made accessible to the general public on 13 February 2018 with the launch of PayID, a simple addressing capability, and Osko, the first NPP overlay service, operated by BPAY. As of 2020, more than 60 Australian banks have adopted the system.
