A lamella clarifier or inclined plate settler (IPS) is a type of clarifier designed to remove particulates from liquids. Range of applications Lamella clarifiers can be used in a range of industries, including mining and metal finishing, as well as to treat groundwater, industrial process water and backwash from sand filters. Lamella clarifiers are ideal for applications where the solids loading is variable and the solids sizing is fine. They are more common than conventional clarifiers at many industrial sites, due to their smaller footprint. One specific application is pre-treatment for effluent entering membrane filters. Lamella clarifiers are considered one of the best options for pre-treatment ahead of ultrafiltration. International Professional Surfers
The International Professional Surfing (IPS) organization was the original world governing body of professional surfing that existed between 1976 and 1982. The IPS brought together a loose affiliation of surf contests around the world by forming one world circuit. The IPS was formed by Fred Hemmings and Randy Rarick in October 1976. Iron Pipe Size (IPS or I.P.S.) pipe sizing system based on the inside diameter (ID) of pipe. It was widely used from the early 19th century to the mid 20th century and is still in use by some industries, including major PVC pipe manufacturers, as well as for some legacy drawings and equipment. The iron pipe size standard came into being early in the 19th century and remained in effect until after World War II. The IPS system was primarily used in the United States and the United Kingdom. In the 1920s, the Copper Tube Size (CTS) standard was combined with the IPS standard. During the IPS period, pipes were cast in halves and welded together, and pipe sizes referred to the ''inside'' diameters.
