Info (Unix)
Info is a software utility which forms a hypertextual, multipage documentation and help viewer working on a command-line interface. Info reads ''info'' files generated by the '' texinfo'' program and presents the documentation as a tree with simple commands to traverse the tree and to follow cross references. For instance, pressing the space bar scrolls down within the current tree node or goes to the next node in the current document if already at the bottom of the current node, allowing to read the contents of an info file sequentially. Pressing the backspace key moves in the opposite direction. Furthermore: * goes to the next node in the current document. * goes to the previous node in the current document. * goes to the next node on the same level as the current node. * goes to the previous node on the same level as the current node. * ("up") goes to the parent of the current node. * goes to the last visited node. * Moving the cursor over a ''link'' (a word preceded ... Info (magazine)
''.info'' (originally ''INFO=64'' and later ''INFO'') was a computer magazine covering Commodore 8-bit computers and later the Amiga. It was published from 1983 to 1992. History ''INFO=64'' began as a newsletter published by its founder, Benn Dunnington, operating out of a spare bedroom in his home. After a few issues, the entrepreneurial spirit struck and he decided to expand it into a full-fledged magazine. The first few issues of the magazine were published by Dunnington operating as a sole proprietorship in the state of Washington. After a few issues, he moved the company to Iowa, eventually incorporating as ''Info Publications, Inc.''. This, in turn, became a limited partnership, (''Info Publications Ltd''), which published the magazine until its demise. ''INFO=64'' was produced using personal computers. An editorial statement in each issue explained that the magazine was produced using only "lay equipment", such as home computers and 35mm cameras, that were inexpensively ... Info (band)
INFO is a future metal, industrial metal band from Bogotá D.C., Colombia. The band won fifth place in the Wacken Open Air Metal Battle 2024. History Origins (2000–2004) On late 2000, Alex L. (drums) and John C. (guitar) got together to start a post-punk project that did not have a bassist. In the search of a bass player they met Milton R., who was drummer for the alternative rock band Santaraña and groove metal band BrujoNitro. Milton R. quit percussion to join the band as bassist. It should be noted as a precedent that Alex L. was a substitute drummer in the rock band 1280 Almas, a band whose boom in the 90s made them famous in the Colombian rock scene. Once this line-up was defined, the band took a new sound path, leaving post-punk and post-grunge behind to search for its own, more contemporary sound, moving away from the nü-metal sound that was so fashionable in Colombia on those years. Working experimentally in underground, INFO matures its proposal to officially ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Workbench (AmigaOS)
Workbench is the desktop environment and graphical spatial file manager, file manager of AmigaOS developed by Commodore International for their Amiga line of computers. Workbench provides the user with a graphical interface to work with file systems and launch applications. It uses a workbench metaphor (in place of the more common desktop metaphor) for representing file system organisation. "Workbench" was also the name originally given to the entire Amiga operating system up until version 3.1. From release 3.5 the operating system was renamed "AmigaOS" and subsequently "Workbench" refers to the graphical front end only. Overview The Amiga Workbench uses the metaphor of a workbench (i.e. a workbench for manual labor), rather than the now-standard desktop metaphor, for representing file system organization. The desktop itself is called ''Workbench'' and uses the following representations: ''drawers'' (instead of folders) for directories, ''tools'' for executable programs, ''p ...
