The Institute for Monitoring Peace and Cultural Tolerance in School Education (IMPACT-SE), formerly known as the Center for Monitoring the Impact of Peace (CMIP), is an Israeli non-profit organization that monitors the content of school textbooks, specifically how they educate in relation to religion, societies, cultures, democratic values and the 'Other'. It examines school curricula worldwide, to determine whether the material conforms to international standards as derived from UNESCO declarations and resolutions, advocating for change when necessary. The organization believes that education should be utilized to encourage tolerance, pluralism and democracy, and promote peaceful means of solving conflicts. Education In The Palestinian National Authority
Education in the Palestinian Territories refers to the educational system in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, which is administered by the Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education. Enrollment rates amongst Palestinians are relatively high by regional and global standards. According to a youth survey in 2003, 60% between the ages 10–24 indicated that education was their first priority. Youth literacy rate (the ages 15–24) is 98.2%, while the national literacy rate is 91.1%. Enrollment ratios for higher education were 46.2% in 2007, among the highest in the world. Marcus Sheff
Marcus Sheff (born 1963) is an Israeli-British non-profit chief executive officer (CEO), former media executive and journalist. Early life and education Sheff was born in the Whitefield, Greater Manchester, Whitefield, Manchester, United Kingdom in 1963 in a Jewish family. His late father, Alan, a dentist, was president of the Whitefield Hebrew Congregation. His mother, Sylvia, was a recipient of the MBE. She led a campaign to free Soviet Jews, most notable among them is Natan Sharansky. Sheff was educated at the Prestwich Jewish Day School, now known as Yesoiday Hatorah as well as Bolton School. Education In Egypt
In the 21st century, the Government of Egypt has given greater priority to improving the education system. According to the Human Development Index (HDI), Egypt is ranked 115 in the HDI, and 9 in the lowest 10 HDI countries in the Middle East and Northern Africa, in 2014. With the help of the World Bank and other multilateral organizations Egypt aims to increase access in early childhood to care and education and the inclusion of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at all levels of education, especially at the tertiary level.
