II Liga Rugby
II liga Rugby is the third tier league for rugby union in Poland. Originally there were two divisions, consisting of 8 teams in the Rugby Ekstraliga and 6 in I liga Rugby, however as the sport is growing in popularity and more and more teams are being registered, a third division was created, consisting of 6 teams. Although local divisions do exist, there is no official relegation or promotion system between the national level and the local divisions, the Champions are may be promoted to I liga Rugby, The competing team gets four points for a win, two points for a draw and zero for a loss. There is an extra point for a team that loses by 7 points or less, and an extra point for scoring 4 or more tries in a game. In the event of a forfeit, the team unable to play will be docked 1 point and their opponent will be awarded a score of 25-0 and 5 points. Rugby Ekstraliga (Polish: ''Ekstraliga Polska w rugby union'') is the premier league for rugby union in Poland. Polish extra league in rugby union (formerly I Liga, Series A) - the highest level of men's rugby union league games of fifteen-person teams in Poland. The competition takes place cyclically (every season, from autumn to spring) in a circular system as the national championship and is intended for the best Polish rugby clubs. They are organized by the Polish Rugby Union. The winner of the Ekstraliga final is also the Polish champion, and the weakest team is fighting for maintenance with the winner of the 1st league (formerly the 2nd league). Try (rugby)
A try is a way of scoring points in rugby union and rugby league football. A try is scored by grounding the ball in the opposition's in-goal area (on or behind the goal line). Rugby union and league differ slightly in defining "grounding the ball" and the "in-goal" area. In rugby union a try is worth 5 points, in rugby league a try is worth 4 points. The term "try" comes from "try at goal", signifying that grounding the ball originally only gave the attacking team the opportunity to try to score with a kick at goal. A try is analogous to a touchdown in American and Canadian football, with the major difference being that a try requires the ball be simultaneously touching the ground and an attacking player, whereas a touchdown merely requires that the ball enter the end zone while in the possession of a player. The Poland national rugby union team ( pl, Reprezentacja Polski w rugby) represents Poland in men's international rugby union competitions.
