The ICC Men's T20I Cricketer of the Year is an annual award, established in 2021 by the International Cricket Council to the best Twenty20 International player over the year in question. It is one of the annual ICC Awards. It has succeeded former ''Twenty20 International Performance of the Year Award'', which was awarded to a player based on a single match performance. Selection The nominees were shortlisted by the Awards panel, comprising prominent cricket journalists and broadcasters from across the globe along with Geoff Allardice, the ICC's CEO.The Voting Academy, comprising a wider selection of global cricket journalists and broadcasters, voted for their first, second and third choices. The ICC also took into consideration fans’ votes via ICC's digital channels. The result of the Voting Academy selections and the fans’ vote were combined to determine the winner. The ICC Awards are an annual set of sports awards for international cricket, which recognise and honour the best international cricket players of the previous 12 months. The awards were introduced by the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2004. Between 2009 and 2014 the awards were known, for sponsorship reasons, as the LG ICC Awards. Mohammad Rizwan (Urdu, ps, ; born 1 June 1992) is a Pakistani international cricketer who has represented Pakistan in international cricket since 2015. Rizwan is the only batter to score 2000 runs in a calendar year in T20s. He is a right-handed batter and wicket-keeper and has scored centuries in all three international formats: Tests, One Day Internationals and Twenty20 Internationals. Surya Kumar Ashok Yadav (born 14 September 1990) is an Indian international cricketer who plays for the Indian cricket team. Regarded as one of the best batters in Twenty20 cricket, he plays as a right handed batsman for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League and for the Mumbai cricket team in Indian domestic cricket. Twenty20 International
A Twenty20 International (T20I) is a form of cricket, played between two of the international members of the International Cricket Council (ICC), in which each team faces a maximum of twenty overs. The matches have top-class status and are the highest T20 standard. The game is played under the rules of Twenty20 cricket. Starting from the format's inception in 2005, T20I status only applied to Full Members and some Associate Member teams. However, in April 2018, the ICC announced that it would grant T20I status to all its 105 members from 1 January 2019. Geoff Allardice
Geoff Allardice (born 7 May 1967) is an Australian former cricketer and administrator, who served as the CEO and General Manager of Cricket for the International Cricket Council (ICC). He was made the acting CEO in March 2021, taking the role on in a full-time capacity from November 2021. In April 2022, the ICC appointed Wasim Khan as their General Manager, taking over from Allardice. Allardice played 14 first-class cricket matches for Victoria between 1991 and 1994. Joseph Charles Buttler (born 8 September 1990) is an English cricketer who captains the England cricket team in limited overs cricket, and plays for the England Test team. Sikandar Raza
Sikandar Raza Butt (} ; born 24 April 1986) is a Pakistani-born Zimbabwean international cricketer, who plays all formats primarily as a batter. Born in Sialkot, Raza emigrated to Zimbabwe in 2002 along with his family. He soon became one of the best batsman in the domestic competition and caught the eye of the Zimbabwe selectors.
