I'm Still Alive (TWiiNS Song)
Slovakia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 with the song "I'm Still Alive" written by Bryan Todd, Sandra Nordstrom and Branislav Jančich. The song was performed by Twiins, who was internally selected by the Slovak broadcaster Rozhlas a televízia Slovenska (RTVS) to represent Slovakia in the 2011 contest in Düsseldorf, Germany. Twiins and the song "I'm Still Alive" were announced as the Slovak entry on 18 February 2011. The song was presented to the public on 3 March 2011. Slovakia was drawn to compete in the second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 12 May 2011. Performing during the show in position 5, "I'm Still Alive" was not announced among the top 10 entries of the second semi-final and therefore did not qualify to compete in the final. Slovenská televízia (; "Slovak Television"; STV) was a state-owned public television organisation in Slovakia. It was created in 1991 as the Slovak part of the former Czechoslovak Television and was headquartered in Bratislava. Rádio FM (styled Rádio_FM) is the fourth channel of the Slovak Radio. It is an alternative music radio and was originally created on 4 March 1991 under the name Rock FM Radio. Rádio FM began with the tradition of awarding Radio Head Awards. Its listeners chose the best Slovak album, Single of the Year, Newcomer of the Year and Best live act of the Year and another prize is awarded also by professional music critics made up of Rádio FM and partner media editors. Ukraine participated in Eurovision Song Contest 2011 with the song "Angel" written by Ruslan Kvinta and Maryna Skomorohova. The song was performed by Mika Newton. The Ukrainian broadcaster National Television Company of Ukraine (NTU) organised a national final in order to select the Ukrainian entry for the 2011 contest in Düsseldorf, Germany. Thirty-five entries competed in the national selection which consisted of nine shows: five heats, three semi-finals and a final. The Miss Universe Slovenskej Republiky or Miss Slovak Republic ( en, Miss Universe of the Slovak Republic) is an annual beauty pageant held in Slovak Republic to select the country's representative to the Miss Universe pageant since 1994. Slovakia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 with the song "Leť tmou" written by Rastislav Dubovský, Petronela Kolevská and Anna Žigová.
