''I'm Here for You'' is the debut album by the American singer Ann Nesby, released in 1996. Nesby supported the album by performing at the opening ceremonies of the 1996 Summer Olympics, in Atlanta. The album peaked at No. 157 on the ''Billboard'' 200. Production The album was produced in part by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. Nesby cowrote or wrote every song on ''I'm Here for You''. Ann Nesby (born Lula Ann Bennett; July 24, 1955) is an American R&B, gospel and dance music singer and actress. She is the former lead singer of Sounds of Blackness; a songwriter with credits including hits sung by Patti LaBelle and Gladys Knight; plus she co-starred in the 2003 romance musical ''The Fighting Temptations'' with Cuba Gooding Jr. and Beyoncé Knowles. Nesby had various appearances on the hit television series ''American Idol and Queen Sugar''. In 2000, she duetted with Al Green on "Put It on Paper". Perspective Records is an American record label, launched in 1991 by the producing team Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, through a joint venture with A&M Records—which Jam & Lewis had had a prosperous working relationship with throughout the 1980s, with several of its major acts including Janet Jackson, The Human League, and label founder Herb Alpert. Acts on Perspective's roster included Bobby Ross Avila, Smooth, Mint Condition, Lo-Key, Solo, Sounds of Blackness, Young Zee, and Ann Nesby. From 1993 to 1996, A&M Records released most of its own urban acts through Perspective. Rapper Tech N9ne was one of the signees for the label, however he was released from the label due to creative differences. James Samuel "Jimmy Jam" Harris III (born June 6, 1959) and Terry Steven Lewis (born November 24, 1956) are an American R&B/pop songwriting and record production team. They have enjoyed great success since the 1980s with various artists, most notably Janet Jackson. They have written 31 top ten hits in the UK and 41 in the US. Gerald Albright is an American jazz saxophonist. He earned Grammys for 24/7 in 2012 and Slam Dunk in 2014 and has been nominated for New Beginnings in 2008 and for Sax for Stax in 2009. Biography Born in Los Angeles, Albright grew up in its South Central neighborhood. He began piano lessons at an early age, although he professed no interest in the instrument.
