''I'm Around'' is the fifth mixtape by American rapper Remy Ma. The mixtape was released on October 31, 2014. ''I'm Around'' features a guest appearance from Remy Ma's husband, rapper Papoose, and DJ Khaled. Production derives from Certifyd, J Notes, and Ted Smooth - among others. The album is the rapper's first official post-prison musical project Background Remy Ma recorded the album shortly after her prison release August 1, 2014. Reminisce Mackie ( Smith; born May 30, 1980), known professionally as Remy Ma, is an American rapper. Discovered by Big Pun, she came to prominence for her work as a member of Fat Joe's group, Terror Squad. In 2006, she released her debut studio album '' There's Something About Remy: Based on a True Story'', which became a modest success, peaking at number 33 on the ''Billboard'' 200 chart. Papoose (rapper)
Shamele Mackie (born March 5, 1978), known professionally as Papoose (), is an American rapper. Well known for his freestyles and prolific mixtape output, Papoose has released four studio albums and 29 mixtapes since 1998. Born in New York, he began rapping in the 1990s, making his first appearance on Kool G Rap's 1998 album ''Roots of Evil''. Papoose produced and distributed his own mixtapes during the early 2000s, eventually signing a $1.5 million contract with Jive Records. After his debut studio album, ''The Nacirema Dream'', was repeatedly delayed and eventually shelved, he and frequent collaborator DJ Kay Slay cut ties with Jive, and released several free mixtapes between 2006 and 2013. ''Plata O Plomo'' is the collaborative studio album by American rappers Fat Joe and Remy Ma, released February 17, 2017 by RNG (Rap's New Generation) and Empire. Background The title of the album, "plata o plomo", translates from Spanish to "silver or lead", meaning "money or bullets".
