Jan Hřebejk
Jan Hřebejk (; born 27 June 1967) is a Czechs, Czech film director and actor. Life and career Born in Prague, Hřebejk graduated from high school in 1987 and continued his studies at the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (FAMU) from 1987 to 1991, majoring in screenplay and dramaturgy. He was at FAMU alongside Petr Jarchovský, who is also his classmate from high school and subsequently a frequent collaborator as a screenwriter. While at FAMU, Hřebejk directed and produced two short films, ''Co všechno chcete vědět o sexu a bojíte se to prožít'' (1988) and ''L. P. 1948'' (1989), from scripts written by his classmate Petr Zelenka (director), Petr Zelenka. His professional directorial debut was a short film for Czech TV, ''Nedělejte nic, pokud k tomu nemáte vážný důvod'' (1991), also written by Zelenka. Boleslav Polívka (born 31 July 1949, in Vizovice) is a Czech film and theatre actor, mime, playwright, and screenwriter. He has appeared in more than 40 films. Career Polívka first started appearing in films in the 1960s. He graduated from the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno in 1971, in the play ''Podivné odpoledne dr. Jiří Schmitzer (born 25 October 1949) is a Czech actor and musician, the son of actor Jiří Sovák. He is a four-time holder of the Czech Lion Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role. Biography Career Schmitzer graduated from the Theatre Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague in 1974, after which he performed at the ''Činoherní studio'' in Ústí nad Labem. Josef Somr (14 April 1934 – 16 October 2022) was a Czech actor. He was noted for starring in the Oscar-winning 1966 film ''Closely Watched Trains'', as well as in '' The Joke''. Early life Somr was born in Vracov, Czechoslovakia, on 14 April 1934. He studied at the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts, graduating in 1956. Career Somr started his acting career at various regional theatres, before becoming a part of The Drama Club in Prague. There, he received roles in productions directed by Ladislav Smocek, Jan Kačer, and Jiří Menzel. He began acting in films starting in the mid-1960s, making his film debut in ''Accused'' (1964).
