Mehmet Husnu (born 25 July 1972) is a Cypriot former professional snooker player. Career Born in 1972, Husnu turned professional in 1991, becoming the first Cypriot professional snooker player in the history of the game. Husnu's career highlights came in his first two seasons; he reached the last 32 of the 1992 European Open, losing 0–5 to Jimmy White, and the same stage of the 1993 Welsh Open, where he was defeated 1–5 by James Wattana. He also made a 147 break during the 1999 China International tournament. Husnu's opponent in his first qualifying match for the 1993 World Championship was Spencer Dunn, who defeated him 5–2; the match was Dunn's seventh en route to appearing in the last 32 at the Crucible Theatre. Hüseyin Hüsnü Emir Erkilet (1883; Constantinople (Istanbul) - 1954; Ankara) was an officer of the Ottoman Army and a general of the Turkish Army. In the fall 1941 he, along with General Ali Fuad Erden, visited the occupied territories in Ukraine (including Crimea) on invitation of Gerd von Rundstedt. From there he and other Turkish officers flew to Rastenburg to meet Hitler in person. In 1943 he published his essays on that trip under title "What I Saw on the Eastern Front." Hasan Hüsnü Erdem (8 July 1889 – 22 August 1974) was a Turkish scholar, teacher, and Mufti who served as the sixth president of the Turkish Directorate of Religious Affairs from 1961 to 1964. Biography In his early life, Erdem learned Arabic from his father, before completing an education in Fiqh. He received a PhD on this topic in 1916 and subsequently taught at many schools and became an Islamic scholar. He retired in 1964. Fuat Hüsnü Kayacan (1879, – 1963) was a Turkish footballer, manager, referee and pioneering figure. He was the first ever Turkish footballer and referee. He got involved in the sport of football when he was a soldier on assignment in İzmir in 1898. He was the younger brother of Hamit Hüsnü Kayacan. Being a native of the Kadıköy district on the Asian side of Istanbul, Kayacan was among the founding line-ups of both Black Stockings FC and Fenerbahçe. Hüsnü Doğan (born 1944) is a Turkish former politician who served as the 38th minister of National Defense from 28 October 1990 to 22 February 1991. He entered into the political race in the Grand National Assembly after serving as deputy of Istanbul. He also served as minister of State in the 47th government of Turkey and minister of Agriculture and Forestry. Biography Doğan was born in Malatya in 1944. He received his early schooling in his hometown and graduated from Middle East Technical University with civil engineering in 1969. He worked at State Planning Organization as a researcher until 1973. He later joined Foreign Investment Board in 1980 and became its chairperson. Fazıl Hüsnü Dağlarca (26 August 1914, Istanbul – 15 October 2008, Istanbul) was one of the most prolific Turkish poets of the Turkish Republic with more than 60 collections of his poems published as of 2007. He was a laureate of the Struga Poetry Evenings Golden Wreath Award. Biography Dağlarca's purist use of the Turkish language brought a new dimension to contemporary Turkish literature. His poems treat themes such as the prehistory of mankind and the cosmos, but also antimilitarist themes and the Turkish War of Independence. A selection of his poems have been translated into English by Talat Sait Halman (''Selected Poems'', Pittsburgh, PA: University of Pittsburgh Press, 1969). Hüsnü Şenlendirici (born 12 July 1976 in Bergama, Turkey) is a Turkish musician of Romani people in Turkey, Romani Background. He comes from a family of musicians: his grandfather Hüsnü Şenlendirici played clarinet and trumpet, his other grandfather Otmar Köfteci used to play clarinet, and his father Ergün Şenlendirici played trumpet. Life and work In 1988 Hüsnü Şenlendirici studied at the State Conservatory of Turkish Music of the Technical University of Istanbul, Istanbul Technical University which he left in 1992 without a degree.
