Høgdebrotet is a mountain in Vågå Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The tall mountain is located in the Jotunheimen mountains within Jotunheimen National Park. The mountain sits about southwest of the village of Vågåmo and about northwest of the village of Beitostølen. The mountain is surrounded by several other notable mountains including Bukkehåmåren to the northeast, Rasletinden to the south, Tjønnholstinden and Tjønnholsoksle to the southwest, Eggi and Surtningssue to the northwest, and Besshø and Besseggen to the north. Rasletind or Rasletinden is a mountain on the border of Vang Municipality and Vågå Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The tall mountain is located in the Jotunheimen mountains within Jotunheimen National Park. The mountain sits about southwest of the village of Vågåmo and about northwest of the village of Beitostølen. The mountain is surrounded by several other notable mountains including Gråhøi to the east; Bukkehåmåren, Høgdebrotet, and Eggi to the north; Tjønnholstinden and Tjønnholsoksle to the northwest; and Kalvehøgde and Leirungskampen to the west. Besseggen
Besseggen or Besseggi is a mountain ridge in Vågå Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The tall mountain ridge is located in the Jotunheimen mountains within Jotunheimen National Park. The mountain sits about southwest of the village of Vågåmo and about northwest of the village of Beitostølen. The mountain ridge is surrounded by several other notable mountains including Veslfjellet to the east and Besshø to the northwest. The ridge runs between the lakes Gjende and Bessvatnet. The walk over Besseggen is one of the most popular mountain hikes in Norway. About 30,000 people walk this trip each year. Besshø
Besshø or Besshøe is a mountain in Vågå Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The tall mountain is located in the Jotunheimen mountains within Jotunheimen National Park. The mountain sits about southwest of the village of Vågåmo and about northwest of the village of Beitostølen. The mountain is surrounded by several other notable mountains including Kollhøin to the north, Veslfjellet and Besseggen to the southeast, Bukkehåmåren and Eggi to the south, and Gloptinden to the west. The mountain lies right above the lake Bessvatnet, along the Besseggen hiking trail. On the mountain's north-eastern side a small cirque glacier, and is surrounded by a large ice-cored moraine, a relatively rare feature in Norway. Surtningssue or Surtningssui is a mountain on the border of Vågå Municipality and Lom Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The tall mountain is the seventh-highest mountain in Norway. It is located in the Jotunheimen mountains within Jotunheimen National Park. The mountain sits about southeast of the village of Fossbergom and about southwest of the village of Vågåmo. Beitostølen
Beitostølen is a village in Øystre Slidre Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The village is located at an elevation of about above mean sea level on the southern edge of the Valdresflye mountain plateau. The villages of Skammestein and Hegge lie about to the southeast of Beitostølen. The lake Øyangen lies a short distance to the southwest of the village. Gjende
Gjende or Gjendin is a lake in Vågå Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. It is located in the Jotunheimen mountain range and also inside Jotunheimen National Park. The proglacial lake shows typical characteristics of glacial formation, being long and narrow, with steep walls. The lake is in length and only in width at the broadest point. Gjende has a characteristic light-green color resulting from the large quantity of rock flour which is discharged into the Gjende by the Muru river. The river Sjoa provides the outlet from Gjende at Gjendesheim, and flows eastward into the Gudbrandsdalslågen river.
