Högbonden
Högbonden is a Swedish island and lighthouse located in the World Heritage Site Höga kusten. From springtime in May through October a hostel is open to visitors in the old lightkeeper's house. In the summer season there is regular daily boat service from Bönhamn to Högbonden. The whole island is a nature reserve. History The lighthouse was built after complaints that there were no lighthouses between Lungö and Skagsudde. Ångermanland ( or ) is a historical province (''landskap'') in the northern part of Sweden. It is bordered (clockwise from the north) by Swedish Lapland, Västerbotten, the Gulf of Bothnia, Medelpad and Jämtland. The name is derived from the Old Norse ''anger'', which means "deep fjord" and is a reference to the deep mouth of the Ångerman River (''Ångermanälven''). In earlier times the province was known, in medieval Latin, as Angermannia. The Swedish Maritime Administration ( sv, Sjöfartsverket) is the government agency in Sweden which provides services to the transport sector by keeping the sea lanes open and safe. The agency is to a certain degree financed through fees levied on commercial shipping. The main services of the Maritime Administration include: pilotage, maintenance of marine fairways, ice-breaking, hydrographics, maritime search and rescue, seamen's service. It also maintains the lighthouses and other aids to navigation of Sweden. Until 1 January 2009, it also was responsible for maritime safety inspection. Seagoing vessels navigating the Baltic Sea must meet certain ice class requirement. While its mainly deals with merchant shipping, other maritime activities are also taken into account. The Kullen Lighthouse ( sv, Kullens fyr) is an operational lighthouse in Scania, located by the mouth of Öresund, at the point of Kullaberg peninsula, in Höganäs, on the south-west coast of Sweden. Skagsudde
Skagsudde, is a Swedish lighthouse. It was built to replace to old light station Skag located on the island Gråklubben nearby. History Skag lighthouse was designed by engineer Nils Gustaf von Heidenstam and lit in 1877 and is now relocated complete with a Fresnel lens as a tourist attraction outside the town of Piteå. The modern tower is of typical 1950's functionalistic design and its top holds many antennas and communications gear. Skagsudde is frequently reported as a weather station in shipping news by the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute.
