Hòn La Economic Zone
Hon La Economic Zone (: ''Khu kinh tế Hòn La'') is one of special economic zones in Vietnam. This zone is located by the Hon La Port in Quảng Trạch District, Quảng Bình Province, Bắc Trung Bộ, Vietnam. The economic zone covers 100 square kilometers, including communes: Quảng Đông, Quảng Phú, Quảng Tùng, Cảnh Dương, Quảng Hưng and Quảng Xuân. Hon La Economic Zone is situated 60 km north Đồng Hới, around 440 km south of Hanoi, at the foot of Ngang Pass, near the Vung Ang Economic Zone in Hà Tĩnh Province with deep-water Vung Ang Port. The National Route 1 and Vietnamese main railway runs along the zone. The economic zone is accessed by road, railway at Đồng Hới Railway Station or by air at Đồng Hới Airport (54 km south) or Phu Bai International Airport (220 km south). Vietnam's foreign trade has been growing fast since state controls were relaxed in the 1990s. The country imports machinery, refined petroleum, and steel; it exports crude oil, textiles and garments, and footwear. The balance of trade has in the past been positive but recent statistics (2004) showed that it was negative. Cha Lo Border Gate Economic Zone ( vi, Khu kinh tế cửa khẩu Cha Lo) is a special economic zone in Quảng Bình Province, Vietnam. This zone is located at the border gate between Laos's Khammouane Province and Vietnam's Quảng Bình Province. Total area is 538 km2, including 5 communes Dân Hoá, Hóa Thanh, Hóa Tiến, Hóa Phúc and Hồng Hoá. It's connected by road through National Road 12. Preferential investment and taxation are given to the investors and businessmen here. The management organization of this special economic zone is the Management Unit for Quảng Bình Economic Zones. Phu Bai International Airport ( vi, Cảng Hàng Không Quốc Tế Phú Bài) is located just south of the central city of Huế, former capital of Vietnam. Đồng Hới Airport
Dong Hoi Airport ( Vietnamese: ''Cảng hàng không Đồng Hới'' or ''Sân bay Đồng Hới'') is an airport located in Loc Ninh commune, 6 km north of Đồng Hới city, capital of Quảng Bình Province, in North Central Coast of Vietnam, about 500 km South-east of Hanoi by road. The facilities cover 173 ha, on a sandy area, by the coast of South China Sea. The runway approaches near the seashore and nearly parallel to the Highway 1. The airport, like all civil airports in Vietnam, is owned and operated by Airports Corporation of Vietnam. The airstrip was built unpaved by French colonists in the 1930s to serve the First Indochina War and was later upgraded by North Vietnam as an airbase for the Vietnam War.
