Hélé Béji
Hélé Béji ( ar, هالة الباجي; born 1 April 1948) is a Tunisian writer. Biography The daughter of Tunisian politician , she was born in Tunis, passed her Agrégation de lettres modernes and went on to teach literature at the University of Tunis. She later joined UNESCO in Paris. In 1998, she founded the Collège international de Tunis. She has expressed a great admiration for the author Marcel Proust and his influence can be seen in her fiction. In 1983, she received the Prix de l’Afrique méditerranéenne awarded by the Association des écrivains de langue française. She has contributed to the magazines ''Le Débat'' and '' Esprit''. She is the sister of movie producer Tarak Ben Ammar. Her niece Yasmine Torjeman-Besson married French politician Éric Besson Éric Besson (born 2 April 1958 in Marrakesh) is a French politician and businessman. ''Esprit'' is a French literary magazine. The magazine also deals with current events. It is based in Paris. History and profile Founded in October 1932 by Emmanuel Mounier, it was the principal review of personalist intellectuals of the time. From 1957 to 1976, it was directed by Jean-Marie Domenach. Paul Thibaud directed it from 1977 to 1989. Since 1989 Oliver Mongin has been the director of the magazine. The philosopher Paul Ricœur often collaborated with it. Éric Besson (born 2 April 1958 in Marrakesh) is a French politician and businessman. From 2009 to 2010, he was the Minister of Immigration, Integration, National Identity and Co-Development in the government of François Fillon. He left the Socialist Party (PS) during the first round of the 2007 presidential elections to found The Progressives, a social democratic affiliate party of Nicolas Sarkozy's Union for a Popular Movement (UMP). He has been Deputy Secretary-General of the UMP since 2009. In 2012, Besson established a strategy consulting firm, Eric Besson Consulting, advising international industry and energy firms. ''Le Débat'' was a bi-monthly French periodical that appeared from 1980 to 2020. Founded by Pierre Nora and Marcel Gauchet, and associated with French left-wing politics, it was characterised as the "single most influential intellectual periodical" of late-twentieth-century France. The first issue of ''Le Débat'' appeared on the day of the funeral of Jean-Paul Sartre.
