Héctor Echavarría
Héctor Echavarría (born December 6, 1969) is an Argentine actor, producer, filmmaker, martial artist, activist, businessman and screenwriter. Biography Early life Héctor Echavarría was born in Corrientes, the capital city of the northern province of Corrientes, in his native Argentina. Hector was a sickly child who suffered from severe asthma, and was encouraged by his parents to use martial arts to overcome his handicap. He began his training at the age of 4 by studying tai chi and Chinese boxing with a Shaolin Monk, Grand Master Tung Kuo Tsao. By the age of 13, Hector had learned judo and jujutsu under Mayamoto of the Kodokan. As a young teenager he was learning karate, and taekwondo, and at the time became the youngest kickboxer to enter the ring professionally. William Louis Wallace (born December 1, 1945) is an American karateka and former professional kickboxer. He is known for his adept use of high-speed leg kicks, earning him the nickname "Superfoot." He was the Professional Karate Association (PKA) World Full-Contact Champion, and the Middleweight Kickboxing Champion for six years, retiring with a 23-0-0 record. The magazine is based in Valencia, California, and is one of the oldest titles dedicated to martial arts in the United States. History and profile The magazine was founded in 1961 by Mitoshi Uyehara. Joe Corley is an American karate and kickboxing competitor, instructor, broadcaster and promoter who helped achieve the success of the Professional Karate Association and the early establishment of professional kickboxing in the United States. Joe Corley is CEO of PKA Worldwide. Early years Joe Corley began studying Tang Soo Do at age 16. At 19 he earned his black belt from Master Hong Shik Chung and together they opened the first martial arts studio in Atlanta in 1967 called Chung Institute of Karate. Edmund Kealoha Parker (March 19, 1931 – December 15, 1990) was an American martial artist, actor, senior grandmaster, and founder of American Kenpo Karate. Life Born in Hawaii, Parker began training in Judo at an early age and later studied boxing. During the 1940s, Parker was introduced to Kenpō by Frank Chow, who then introduced Parker to William Chow, a student of James Mitose. Robert Trias
Robert A. Trias (March 18, 1923 – July 11, 1989) was an American karate pioneer, founding the first karate school in the mainland United States and becoming one of the first known American black belts.
