Håvard Endre Holm (15 December 1943 – 28 July 2017) was a Norwegian civil servant. He is a cand.jur. by education. He was hired in the Ministry of the Environment in 1972, and was promoted to deputy under-secretary of state in 1989. The Royal Norwegian Ministry of Climate and Environment (Norwegian: Klima- og miljødepartementet) is a Norwegian ministry established on May 8, 1972. Norwegian Pollution Control Authority
The Norwegian Climate and Pollution Agency ( no, Klima- og forurensningsdirektoratet, Klif), named Norwegian Pollution Control Authority ( no, Statens forurensningstilsyn), SFT) until 2010, was a Norwegian government agency from 1974 to 2013 when it was merged into the Norwegian Environment Agency. The agency was responsible for ensuring that pollution, waste and other harmful substances did not result in health damage, inflict the well-being or hinder the production and reproduction of nature. In particular it had a responsibility of pollution related to sea and water, chemicals, waste and recycling, global warming, air pollution and noise. Harald Rensvik
Harald Rensvik (born 4 March 1946) is a Norwegian civil servant. He was born in Arendal, and grew up in Ålesund and Valdres. He graduated as a siv.ing from the Norwegian Institute of Technology. He worked as a head of department in the Norwegian Pollution Control Authority from 1982 to 1986. In 1987 he took over as director of the Pollution Control Authority. He served until 1996, except for the period between 1990 and 1992, when he was a state secretary for the Minister of Government Administration and Labour in the third cabinet Brundtland. From 1996 he was permanent under-secretary of State in the Ministry of the Environment, being granted a leave of absence from 1999 to 2001. Ellen Hambro
Ellen Christine Hambro (born 20 July 1964) is a Norwegian civil servant. Early career Hambro earned a law degree (cand.jur.) from the University of Oslo in 1991. She joined the Ministry of the Environment the same year and in 1997 became head of her department, where she worked on waste management issues. Norway's industrial employers credited her with raising the percentage of waste recycled from almost nothing to about 70%. In 2004 she moved to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, where she worked as deputy under-secretary of state. Directorship Since 1 January 2007 she has directed Norway's Climate and Pollution Agency (before 2010, called the Pollution Control Authority). She is the first woman to hold the post.
