Bernhard Häring
Bernard Häring, CSsR (10 November 1912 – 3 July 1998) was a German moral theologian and a Redemptorist priest in the Catholic Church. Life Häring was born at Böttingen in Germany to a peasant family. At the age of 12, he entered the seminary. Later, he took vows as a member of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer, was ordained a priest, and sent as a missionary to Brazil. He studied moral theology in obedience to his superiors. During World War II, he was conscripted by the German army and served as a medic. Although forbidden from performing priestly functions by the Nazi authorities, he brought the sacraments to Catholic soldiers. In 1954, he came to fame as a moral theologian with his three volume, ''The Law of Christ.'' The work received ecclesiastical approval but was written in a style different from the Manual Tradition. Hugo Häring
Hugo Häring (11 May 1882 – 17 May 1958) was a German architect and architectural writer best known for his writings on "organic architecture", and as a figure in architectural debates about functionalism in the 1920s and 1930s, though he had an important role as an expressionist architect. Häring was born in Biberach an der Riß, in the Kingdom of Württemberg. A student of the great Theodor Fischer, he took the view that each building should be uniquely developed according to the specific demands of the site and client. Few of Häring's designs were built but he was a strong influence on his friend and colleague Hans Scharoun. One built design was a contribution to the Siemensstadt housing project in Berlin from 1929 through 1931, which was master-planned by Scharoun. Häring was a founding member of both The Ring and CIAM. Norbert Häring is an economist and business journalist. Since 2002 he has reported on finance and economics for the German business newspaper ''Handelsblatt''. Life He is the author (with Olaf Storbeck) of the book ''Ökonomie 2.0'' which was a bestseller in Germany and won the 2007 GetAbstract International Book Award for best business book. It was published in English as ''Economics 2.0'' and also translated into Chinese, Korean, Italian and Japanese. His book ''Markt und Macht'' was published in English as ''Economists and the Powerful'' (with Niall Douglas) by Anthem Press in 2012.
