Hysteria (1965 Film)
''Hysteria'' is a 1965 British murder mystery film directed by Freddie Francis, produced by Hammer Films and released by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. The film stars Robert Webber and Anthony Newlands. Plot American Chris Smith wakes up in an English hospital unable to remember anything of his life before a recent car accident. Four months later, he has recovered physically but has still not retrieved his memory. His amnesia is being treated by Dr. Keller, a psychiatrist, who tells him that his bills are being paid by an anonymous benefactor, who has made an apartment available to him. Dr. Keller warns him that he might suffer hallucinations. The only other link to his past is a photograph torn from a newspaper. Chris has fallen in love with Gina, his nurse. Upon release from the hospital, Chris moves into a flat and hires Hemmings, a private investigator. Freddie Francis
Frederick William Francis (22 December 1917 – 17 March 2007) was an English cinematographer and film director. He achieved his greatest successes as a cinematographer. He started his career with British films such as Jack Cardiff's ''Sons and Lovers'' (1960), Jack Clayton's drama '' Room at the Top'' (1959) and psychological horror film '' The Innocents'' (1961). He became known for his collaborations with David Lynch with ''The Elephant Man'' (1980), ''Dune'' (1984), and ''The Straight Story'' (1999). He also earned acclaim for his work on ''The French Lieutenant's Woman'' (1981) starring Meryl Streep, and Martin Scorsese's '' Cape Fear'' (1991). As a director, he was associated with the British production companies Amicus and Hammer in the 1960s and 1970s. Marianne Stone
Marianne Stone (23 August 1922 – 21 December 2009) was an English character actress. She performed in films from the early 1940s to the late 1980s, typically playing working class parts such as barmaids, secretaries and landladies. Stone appeared in nine of the ''Carry On'' films, and took part in an episode of the ''Carry On Laughing'' television series ("The Case of the Screaming Winkles"). She also had supporting roles with comedian Norman Wisdom. Sir James Enrique Carreras (30 January 1909 – 9 June 1990) was a British film producer and executive who, together with William Hinds, founded the British company Hammer Film Productions. His career spanned nearly 45 years, in multiple facets of the entertainment industry until retiring in 1972. Carreras managed the Oxford cinema ''Manchester'' before entering the distribution side of the film industry in 1934, when he joined Exclusive Films, formed by his father Enrique and William Hinds. During World War II, Carreras saw combat and rose to Lieutenant-Colonel. In 1946, he returned as managing director of ''Exclusive Films'', where he co-produced ''Who Killed Van Loon?'' (1947).
