Hypsiboas Heilprini
The Los Bracitos tree frog (''Boana heilprini''), or Hispaniolan green treefrog, is a species of frog in the family Hylidae endemic to Hispaniola and found below asl. The species was named in honour of professor Angelo Heilprin who funded the expedition that this species was discovered on. Natural habitats of ''Boana heilprini'' are mountain streams associated with mesic broadleaf forests. It can also be found in various modified habitats, such as cacao and coffee plantations, pastures, crop agriculture areas, and areas with livestock or forestry activities. Nevertheless, it seems to require pockets of forest habitat to persist in a landscape. Gladwyn Kingsley Noble
Gladwyn Kingsley Noble (September 20, 1894 – December 9, 1940) was an American zoologist who served as the head curator for the Department of Herpetology and the Department of Experimental Biology at the American Museum of Natural History. Noble received bachelor's and master's degrees from Harvard University in 1917 and 1918, respectively, and a Ph.D. from Columbia University in 1922. He joined the herpetology department in 1922 as a research assistant and assistant curator in 1917, and became the chairman of the department in 1924. He later formed the Department of Experimental Biology in 1928, and served as the chairman of both departments until his death on December 9, 1940, from a streptococcal throat infection. Hylidae
Hylidae is a wide-ranging family of frogs commonly referred to as "tree frogs and their allies". However, the hylids include a diversity of frog species, many of which do not live in trees, but are terrestrial or semiaquatic. Angelo Heilprin
Angelo Heilprin (March 31, 1853 – July 17, 1907) was an American geologist, paleontologist, naturalist, and explorer. He is mostly known for the part he took into the Peary expedition to Greenland of 1891–1892 and for his observations and photographs of the 1902 eruption of Montagne Pelée in Martinique. He also was a mountaineer and a painter. Biography Angelo Heilprin was born at Sátoraljaújhely, in the Zemplén County of the Kingdom of Hungary. His family was Jewish. ''Boana'' is a genus of frogs in the family Hylidae. They are commonly known as gladiator frogs, gladiator treefrogs or Wagler Neotropical treefrogs.
