Hypnodog
Hypnodog is a canine stage hypnotist act. Professional hypnotist Hugh Lennon discovered Oscar, a 10-month-old black Labrador Retriever puppy, on a farm in Yorkshire. Lennon states that initially he bought Oscar as a pet and brought him to shows for companionship, but "one night I brought him on stage with me. He started staring at this girl and she fell into hypnosis, without me doing a thing". Lennon maintains that a number of dogs and other carnivores have a natural ability to hypnotise prey. In 1995, Oscar made headlines in the UK and all over the world, when he went missing while appearing at the Edinburgh Fringe in Scotland. Oscar is also familiar to many students of English as a second language, as materials about Oscar and his act are featured in the Oxford University Press English language course. Reading And Leeds Festivals
The Reading and Leeds Festivals are a pair of annual music festivals that take place in Reading and Leeds in England. The events take place simultaneously on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the August bank holiday weekend. The Reading Festival is held at Little John's Farm on Richfield Avenue in central Reading, near Caversham Bridge. The Leeds event is held in Bramham Park, near Wetherby, the grounds of a historic house. Headliners and most supporting acts typically play at both sites, with Reading's Friday line up becoming Leeds' Saturday line-up, Reading's Saturday line-up playing at Leeds on Sunday, and Leeds' Friday line-up attending Reading on Sunday. Gerald "Gerry" Kelly (born 20 September 1948) is a Northern Irish broadcaster and journalist, best known for his presenting career at UTV where he presented the Friday night talk and variety show '' Kelly'' from 1989 until 2005. He is currently a presenter on BBC Radio Ulster, where he presents on Fridays from 3.00pm to 5.00pm and on Saturdays from 12.00pm to 1.30pm. Early life Kelly was born on Thomas Street in Ballymena on the 20 September 1948. His parents were originally from Derry, where his father worked in the shirt industry. He, along the rest of his family moved to Downpatrick in the early 1950s and much of Kelly's early childhood was overshadowed by his father's alcohol problem.
