Einar Lönnberg
Axel Johann Einar Lönnberg (24 December 1865 – 21 November 1942) was a Swedish zoologist and conservationist. Lönnberg was born in Stockholm. He was head of the Vertebrate Department of the ''Naturhistoriska Riksmuseet'' (Swedish Natural History Museum) from 1904 to 1933. In 1891 he obtained his PhD from the University of Uppsala, spending the next twelve years as an inspector in the fisheries service. During this time-frame he made scientific trips to Florida (1892 – 1893) and the Caspian Sea (1899). In 1904 he was appointed head of the department of vertebrates at the ''Naturhistoriska Riksmuseet'' in Stockholm. In 1910 – 1911 he participated in an expedition to East Africa. From 1925 to 1942 he served as prefect of the ''Kristineberg Marina Forskningsstation'' (Kristineberg Marine Zoological Station). Nils Carl Gustaf Fersen Gyldenstolpe
Nils Carl Gustaf Fersen Gyldenstolpe (30 September 1886 – 10 April 1961) was a Swedish explorer, zoologist, and ornithologist. Born in the central Swedish province of Jämtland, he visited Lapland from 1906 to 1909 and joined the expedition of Dr. Paul Rosenius to southern Algeria. He also visited Thailand in 1911–12 and the Malay Peninsula in 1914–15. He studied at Uppsala University and joined under Professor Einar Lönnberg at the Department of Vertebrates of the Naturhistoriska Riksmuseum in Stockholm. He continued to work here throughout his life. In 1924 he obtained a Ph.D. from Lund University for his studies on the birds of central and eastern Africa. The subspecific name of the Tupana scythebill, ''Campylorhamphus procurvoides gyldenstolpei'', is named after him. Also, a species of Thai lizard, ''Isopachys gyldenstolpei ''Isopachys'' is a genus of skinks endemic to Asia. Muridae
The Muridae, or murids, are the largest family of rodents and of mammals, containing approximately 1,383 species, including many species of mice, rats, and gerbils found naturally throughout Eurasia, Africa, and Australia. The name Muridae comes from the Latin ' (genitive '), meaning "mouse", since all true mice belong to the family, with the more typical mice belonging to the genus '' Mus''. Distribution and habitat Murids are found nearly everywhere in the world, though many subfamilies have narrower ranges. Murids are not found in Antarctica or many oceanic islands. Although none of them are native to the Americas, a few species, notably the house mouse and black rat, have been introduced worldwide. Murids occupy a broad range of ecosystems from tropical forests to tundras. Fossorial, arboreal, and semiaquatic murid species occur, though most are terrestrial animals.
