Hylands Hörna
''Hylands hörna'' ("Hyland's corner") was a Swedish talk show presented by Lennart Hyland. Broadcast between 1962 and 1983, it was the first talk show in Sweden. The show started as a radio program on 10 October 1961. It moved to television in 1962 and is, in percentage, one of the most watched programs in Sweden ever. Lennart Hyland
Otto Lennart Hyland (24 September 1919 – 15 March 1993), was a Swedish TV-show host and journalist and one of the most popular and renowned TV personalities in the history of Swedish television. His biggest success as an entertainer was unquestionably the show ''Hylands hörna'' ("Hyland's corner"), that aired from 1962 on Sveriges Television. Initially, it was a radio show at Sveriges Radio, but due to its success and popularity, the production was moved to Sveriges Television in 1962 where it aired until 1983. During its 21-year run, it became a veritable institution of Swedish popular entertainment. Early life Hyland was born on 24 September 1919 in Tranås, Säby Parish, Sweden, the son of Otto Hyland, a merchant, and Maja Moback. Per Oscar Heinrich Oscarsson (28 January 1927 – 31 December 2010) was a Swedish actor. He is best known for his role in the 1966 film ''Hunger'', which earned him a Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Actor. Early life Oscarsson was born, along with his twin brother Björn, on 28 January 1927 on Kungsholmen, Stockholm, to parents Einar Oscarsson, an engineer, and Therèse, née Küppers. The twins had two elder siblings. SVT Play
SVT Play is the brand used for the video on demand service offered by Sveriges Television, more specifically to the streaming services offered on the SVT website, svt.se, and its counterpart for mobile phones. The brand was introduced in December 2006, when the existing streaming television service got a new name. In September 2007, SVT launched their own channel on YouTube. From late 2007 until end of 2008 SVT Play was also available as a channel on Joost. SVT claims that the service offers more than 2,000 hours of television. Most programmes produced for or by SVT are published on SVT Play after they have been broadcast and are then available for 30 days. SVT have also launched "channels" dedicated at different audiences under the "Play" name. The first such channel was Play Bolibompa which launched in late 2007. Thore Skogman
Elof Lars "Thore" Skogman (9 March 1931 – 9 December 2007) was a popular Swedish singer, songwriter, actor and entertainer. Skogman was born in Hallstahammar, Sweden. While working as an accountant and sales manager during the 1950s, he made his debut recording in 1955, devoted his full-time to singing by 1961, and came third in Sweden's national song contest Melodifestivalen in 1963. In the 1960s he wrote "Fröken Fräken" (literally: ''Miss Freckle'') that became one of his most successful hits. Skogman also wrote songs for other Swedish and Scandinavian artists. Carl Allan Rudolf Schulman (15 September 1919 – 12 July 2003) was a Swedish-Finnish journalist and television producer. Carl Allan Rudolf Schulman was born on 15 September 1919 in Helsinki, Finland to Carl Allan Morgan Schulman and Tyyni Ilta Helena Schulman (née Krank). He worked as journalist and managing editor at different Swedish newspapers and local radio stations in Finland between 1941 and 1951, and as producer at YLE between 1950 and 1953. In the year 1953 he moved to Stockholm to work at Radiotjänst, where he first served as producer and from 1958 as managing producer. As producer he produced Frukostklubben with Sigge Fürst as host. Between 1962 and 1965 he worked as TV producer. During the following years he worked as director of communications at the Swedish Red Cross. Kyu Sakamoto
was a Japanese singer and actor. He was best known outside Japan for his international hit song "Ue o Muite Arukō" (known as "Sukiyaki" in English-speaking markets), which was sung in Japanese and sold over 13 million copies. It reached number one in the United States ''Billboard'' Hot 100 in June 1963, making Sakamoto the first Asian recording artist to have a number one song on the chart. He was also the first Japanese artist to have a number one single on the Australian singles chart. Sakamoto was killed on 12 August 1985 in the crash of Japan Air Lines Flight 123, along with 519 others on board the flight. Tage Fritjof Erlander (; 13 June 1901 – 21 June 1985) was a Swedish politician who served as Prime Minister of Sweden from 1946 to 1969. He was the leader of the Swedish Social Democratic Party and led the government for an uninterrupted tenure of 23 years, one of the longest in any democracy.
