Hyderabad–Badin Branch Line ( ur, , sd, حیدرآباد - بدین ريلوي لائن) is one of several branch lines in Pakistan, operated and maintained by Pakistan Railways. The line begins from Kotri Junction station or Hyderabad Junction station and ends at Badin station. The total length of this railway line is . There are 9 railway stations from Kotri Junction to Badin. History The Hyderabad–Badin Railway opened on 15 August 1904 as part of the North Western State Railway's expansion program. However owing to World War I, financial stringency stagnated developments of the railways. In order to meet the necessities of the military authorities, this rail line (along with the Lodhran–Kasur Railway) was dismantled in 1917 during World War I, as the rails were needed elsewhere. Kotri Junction railway station ( ur, , sd, ڪوٽڙي جنکشن ريلوي اسٽيشن) is located in Kotri city, Jamshoro District, Jamshoro district of Sindh province, Pakistan. History Kotri Junction station is among the oldest railway stations in Pakistan. It served as the northern terminus point of the Scinde Railway, which was established in March 1855. A railway line was to be constructed between Karachi and Kotri and work on the Karachi terminus commenced in April 1858. By 13 May 1861, the station opened to the public. The line begins from Lodhran Junction station and ends at Raiwind Junction station. The total length of this railway line is . There are 22 railway stations from Lodhran Junction to Raiwind Junction. History The rail line was originally completed as the ''Kasur–Lodhran Railway'' in 1909 by the ''Southern Punjab Railway'' as part of the ''Sutlej Valley Railway'' irrigation project.
