Hwang Tong Gyu
Hwang Donggyu (born April 9, 1938) is a South Korean poet, academician and critic. Life Hwang Donggyu was born in Seoul. He received a degree in English literature from Seoul National University, where he also completed his graduate studies. His literary career launched with the publication of works such as "October” (Si-wol) and "A Letter of Delight” (Jeulgeo-un pyeonji) in the journal ''Contemporary Literature'' (Hyundae Munhak). Hwang Donggyu is currently a professor of English literature at Seoul National University,"김채원 " LTI Korea Datasheet: and has received several Korean literary prizes. Jaeahn Hwang clan () is one of the Korean clans. Their Bon-gwan is in Hwangju County, North Hwanghae Province. According to the research held in 2015, the number of Jaeahn Hwang clan's member was 3098. Their founder was , a great-grandchild of Hwang Seok gi (). ’s ancestor was Hwang Bo () who was a Lu (state) people in China. passed Imperial examination during Goryeo period. Midang Literary Award Winners
Seo Jeong-ju (May 18, 1915 – December 24, 2000) was a Korean poet and university professor who wrote under the pen name Midang ( "not yet fully grown"). He is widely considered one of the best poets in twentieth-century Korean literature and was nominated five times for the Nobel Prize in literature. Life Seo Jeong-ju was born in Gochang County, North Jeolla Province and received his primary education in Seodang village until 1924. The traditional stories told him by his grandmother, his primary education and his youthful experiences influenced his literary style. He went to Jung-Ang Buddhist College, but he dropped out of school in 1936 after being involved in a demonstration. In 1936, his poem, ''Byuk'' (''Wall''), was published in ''The Dong-a Ilbo'' newspaper. He became a pro-Japanese activist, and wrote various poems in praise of Japanese Imperialism in the late colonial period. Ho-am Prize In The Arts
The Ho-Am Prize was established in 1990 by Kun-Hee Lee, the Chairman of Samsung, with a vision to create a new corporate culture that continues the noble spirit of public service espoused by the late Chairman Byung-chull Lee, founder of Samsung. Awarded since 1991, it is funded by Samsung and named after their former chairman, Lee Byung-chul (Ho-Am is his pen name which means ''filling up a space with clear water as lakes do, and being unshakeable as a large rock''). Korean Language
Korean ( South Korean: , ''hangugeo''; North Korean: , ''chosŏnmal'') is the native language for about 80 million people, mostly of Korean descent. It is the official and national language of both North Korea and South Korea (geographically Korea), but over the past years of political division, the two Koreas have developed some noticeable vocabulary differences. Beyond Korea, the language is recognised as a minority language in parts of China, namely Jilin Province, and specifically Yanbian Prefecture and Changbai County. It is also spoken by Sakhalin Koreans in parts of Sakhalin, the Russian island just north of Japan, and by the in parts of Central Asia. The language has a few extinct relatives which—along with the Jeju language (Jejuan) of Jeju Island and Korean itself—form the compact Koreanic language family.
