Huw Edwards (; born 18 August 1961) is a Welsh journalist, presenter, and newsreader. Edwards presents ''BBC News at Ten'', the corporation's flagship news broadcast. Edwards also presents BBC coverage of state events, international events, the hour-long '' BBC News at Five'' on the BBC's rolling news channel BBC News and occasionally presents either as relief or as the BBC's chief presenter ''BBC News at Six'', ''BBC News at One'', ''BBC Weekend News'' and ''Daily Politics'', as well as on the BBC's international news channel BBC World News. Huw Edwards (politician)
Huw William Edmund Edwards (born 12 April 1953) is a British Labour Party politician who was the Member of Parliament (MP) for Monmouth over two separate terms. Throughout both of his terms, he served on the Welsh Affairs Select Committee. Edwards was first elected as Monmouth's MP at a by-election in May 1991, but lost the seat at the 1992 general election. Huw Edwards (conductor)
Huw Edwards is a Welsh conductor. Edwards' conducting career began at age seventeen when he became music director of the Maidstone Opera Company in England. He later attended the University of Surrey, where he conducted the college orchestra along with an ensemble that he formed himself. At age twenty-three, he won a conducting competition which sent him to Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. He then held a lecturer position at Northwestern University in Chicago, where he was also a doctoral candidate. Edwards was conductor and music director of the Portland Youth Philharmonic from 1995 to 2002 followed by the Seattle Youth Symphony from 2002 to 2005. He served as music director of the Portland Columbia Symphony from 2000 to 2012 and with the Olympia Symphony Orchestra from 2003 to 2020. Huw Edwards (EastEnders)
Huw Edwards is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera ''EastEnders'', played by Richard Elis. Huw was introduced on 28 May 1996 and remained on-screen until 15 April 1999. Storylines Huw is an amiable Welshman from Pontarddulais, who is best friends with Lenny Wallace (Des Coleman). They live in a squat in Albert Square, enjoying loud music and winding up Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt). Lenny and Huw also operate a pirate radio station from the premises for a while.
