Hutch BMX
Hutch BMX was founded in 1979 by bicycle store owner Richard Hutchins in Pasadena, Maryland. Hutch BMX grew from a bicycle shop to a mail order business, and then to a BMX bicycle manufacturer. The company introduced their first model (Hutch Pro Racer) in 1981. The company is now named Hutch Hi-Performance inc. History Hutch BMX mail order business Hutch BMX started out as a bicycle shop. Shop owner Richard Hutchins noticed many young BMX enthusiasts wanted bike parts which were only available on the West Coast. Eventually there were so many mail order customers that Hutchins closed the bike shop and became a mail order company full time. Bicycle Frame
A bicycle frame is the main component of a bicycle, onto which wheels and other components are fitted. The modern and most common frame design for an upright bicycle is based on the safety bicycle, and consists of two triangles: a main triangle and a paired rear triangle. Bicycle Fork
A bicycle fork is the part of a bicycle that holds the front wheel. A fork typically consists of two ''blades'' which are joined at the top by a fork ''crown.'' The crown is often at the front. Most suspension forks have an arch connecting the two side of the lowers (the part connected to the axle.) It is often in front of the stanchions (shaft the lowers slide on) but not always. Above the crown, a ''steerer tube'' attaches the fork to the bicycle and the handlebars (via a stem) allowing the rider to steer the bicycle. The steerer tube of the fork interfaces with the frame via bearings called a headset mounted in the head tube. At the bottom of the fork, ''fork ends'' hold the wheel. Usually, either the axle is bolted to the fork, or a ''quick release skewer'' passes through a hollow axle, clamping the axle to the fork. Timothy Judge (born July 8, 1964 in Miami, Florida U.S.) is a former American "Old School" professional Bicycle Motocross (BMX) racer whose prime competitive years were from 1979-1985. When he was a young racer his given name was used in the diminutive "Timmy". His nickname was "Da Judge" a play on an on the 1970s catch phrase "Here come da judge" first popularized on the 1968-1973 comedy Variety show Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In. The show was off the air for about six years when Tim Judge first came to national BMX attention, but due to the show's popularity and his name lending itself to be associated the phrase "Here comes Da Judge" was quickly associated with him. Toby Henderson
Toby S.Henderson (born October 10, 1961, in La Mirada, California United States) is a former professional American "Old School" Bicycle Motocross (BMX) racer whose prime competitive years were between 1979 and 1985. He was given the nickname "Coca Cola Cowboy" by Bob Osborn, publisher of ''BMX Action'' magazine, although the reason for it was unknown even by Henderson. He himself regard it as "lame". Racing career Henderson started racing in 1973 at the age of 12 at Hollyfield Park in Norwalk, California. In a September 1982 ''BMX Action'' his first race was claimed to be Scot Briethaupt's B.U.M.S track. He rode a Schwinn Sting-Ray bicycle at that time. He turned professional in December 1978, and came in third at the Pro Class at the National Bicycle Association (NBA) Supernationals in Saddleback Park in Irvine, California on April 8, 1979. Bicycle Handlebar
A bicycle handlebar is the steering control for bicycles. It is the equivalent of a tiller for vehicles and vessels, as it is most often directly mechanically linked to a pivoting front wheel via a stem which in turn attaches it to the fork.
