Brian Maurice Bennett
Brian Maurice Bennett (born 1 April 1948) is a former British diplomat. Bennett studied Russian at the University of Sheffield. Career He entered the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 1971. After two years as a desk officer, he received his first foreign posting, as an information secretary at the British embassy to Czechoslovakia, where he served until 1976, when he was transferred back to London to serve in the FCO's personnel department. After further stints at the British embassies to Finland and Barbados, he served as first secretary in the British delegation at the Mutual and Balanced Force Reductions talks in Vienna and in the British embassy in the Netherlands. Sir David Bruce Omand (born 15 April 1947) is a British former senior civil servant who served as the Director of the Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) from 1996 to 1997. Raphael Minder (born 1971 in Geneva) is a Swiss journalist and writer. He is the Central Europe Correspondent for ''The Financial Times'', after covering Spain and Portugal for ''The New York Times'' for over a decade until May 2022. Maleeha Lodhi ( ur, ; born 15 November 1952) is a Pakistani diplomat, political scientist, and a former Pakistan's Representative to the United Nations. She was the first woman to hold the position. Paul Lendvai (born Lendvai Pál on August 24, 1929) is a Hungarian-born Austrian journalist. He moved to Austria in 1957, where he works as an author and journalist. Biography Lendvai was born on August 24, 1929, in Budapest to Jewish parents. In the late 1940s and early 1950s (also known as the Rákosi era), Lendvai worked as a journalist in Hungary starting in 1947. Robert Lambert MBE is a British academic and former undercover police officer. He served in the controversial Special Demonstration Squad and posed as a left-wing animal rights activist from 1983 to 1988, fathering a child with an activist, who was unaware of his true identity, during his deployment. Both the woman and her child have needed psychiatric treatment as a result, and both have been awarded damages against the Police.
