Hurriganes
Hurriganes was a Finnish rock band that was formed in the early 1970s. They were very popular in Finland, Sweden and Estonia in the 1970s and early 1980s, as well as a popular live act in Sweden during this time. Their classic line-up consisted of Remu Aaltonen, Albert Järvinen, and Cisse Häkkinen. The misspelling of the name ("Hurriganes" with a "g") is intentional. Their style of music is very much of a nostalgic, pre-Beatles, roots rock'n'roll orientation. During their "classic" period, the band's output consisted largely of revved-up cover versions of well-known 1950s rock 'n' roll songs, in addition to their own original material. In this sense, Hurriganes can be viewed as Finland's answer to British pub rock performers of the 1970s like Dave Edmunds and Dr. Feelgood. Albert Järvinen
Pekka "Albert" Johannes Järvinen (25 October 1950 Iitti – 24 March 1991 London) was a Finnish guitarist. He is best known as the guitarist of the Finnish rock band Hurriganes. He got his stage-name Albert from one of his idols, blues guitarist Albert King. Career Pekka "Albert" Järvinen was born in the municipality of Iitti in south-east Finland, where he at the age of eight started playing the acoustic guitar. He initially studied classical guitar under the leadership of Ivan Putilin. Järvinen received his first electric guitar, a Gretsch, in 1965. From there he went on to play in numerous bands, including the blues band Harp and the rock band Poison. When Järvinen, in May 1972, replaced Ile Kallio as the lead guitarist of Hurriganes, he was already a seasoned musician. Remu Aaltonen
Henry Olavi "Remu" Aaltonen (born 10 January 1948) is a Finnish drummer and singer. He is the lead musician of the band Hurriganes, but has also pursued a solo singing career. Aaltonen was born in Helsinki. He was the oldest child in a family of seven siblings and one foster child. He is of Romani descent. Pave Maijanen
Pekka Juhani "Pave" Maijanen (3 September 1950 – 16 January 2021) was a Finnish musician, who worked as a singer, songwriter, bass player, keyboard player, drummer, guitarist and producer during his long career. As well as his solo career, Maijanen was a member of The Royals, Rock'n'Roll Band, Pepe & Paradise and he was the keyboard player and producer of Dingo and the Hurriganes. Maijanen's first work as a producer was for the album '' Nuclear Nightclub'' by Wigwam. Ilkka Tahvo "Ile" Kallio (born 18 November 1955) is a Finnish guitarist and singer. Kallio was born in Oulu, Finland. He was a founding member of the Hurriganes, then a member of the Finnish band The Dogs. During the 1990s performed as a duo with Kaija Kärkinen.
