Brian Huntley
Brian John Huntley (born 1944) is a retired professor and conservation scientist from South Africa, best known for developing and transforming African national parks. He was involved in expanding the National Botanical Institute (later SANBI) to become an authoritative repository on South African flora and fauna. As an independent expert, he was a consultant for agencies and international organizations, including the United Nations, with regard to nature conservation. He himself took part in multiple conservation projects around Africa. Early life, education and first expedition Huntley was born in Durban, South Africa, in 1944. His parents and grandparents encouraged the boy's interest in natural history. Joni Huntley
Joni Luann Huntley (born August 4, 1956) is an American high jumper. She competed at the 1976 and 1984 Olympics and won a bronze medal in 1984, placing fifth in 1976. At the Pan American Games she won a gold medal in 1975 and a bronze in 1983. She was ranked as third-best high jumper in the world in 1975. Domestically she won the national title in 1974–77 and set four American records in 1974–75. Prep Huntley was born in McMinnville, Oregon, and raised in Sheridan, Oregon, where she attended Sheridan High School. While there she was the first high school girl over 6 feet, setting the NFHS national high school record. Thomas Huntley
Thomas E. Huntley (born February 10, 1938) is a Minnesota politician and former member of the Minnesota House of Representatives. A member of the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL), he represented District 7A, which includes portions of the city of Duluth in St. Louis County in the northeastern part of the state. He is a retired associate professor of biochemistry and molecular biology at the University of Minnesota Duluth and former director of Institutional Relations at the University's School of Medicine. Early life and education Huntley's first name was chosen from a combination of her mother reading a novel where the lead had this name ('' A Sparrow Falls'' by Wilbur Smith) and an electrical storm outside on the day she was born. Her grandmother refused to use this name for some time. Shirley L. Huntley (born June 29, 1938) is an American politician who is formerly a New York State Senator, serving from 2007 to 2012. Huntley represented Senate District 10 in Queens County, which included Jamaica, South Jamaica, Springfield Gardens, Laurelton, South Ozone Park, Kew Gardens, Broad Channel, and Lindenwood. She pleaded guilty to mail fraud in 2013. Political career Huntley was elected to Community School Board 28 in 1993 and served as its president until the dissolution of the School Board in 2004. She was appointed to the Community Education Council for District 28 in June 2004 and was elected as its president in July 2004. Robert E. R. Huntley (1929 – December 10, 2015) was an American attorney, businessman, retired law professor, and former president of Washington and Lee University. He graduated from Washington and Lee in 1950 and its law school in 1957. He obtained a master's degree in law from Harvard University in 1962. He joined the law faculty of Washington and Lee in 1958, and served as its dean from 1967 to 1968. In 1968 he was named president of the university, a post he held for 15 years. Kevin Huntley (born September 20, 1986) is a professional lacrosse player with the Toronto Nationals of Major League Lacrosse and the Philadelphia Wings of the National Lacrosse League. He plays the attack position. Huntley played collegiate lacrosse at Johns Hopkins University where he helped his team win two national championships, and finished his college career as the eighth all-time leading goal scorer in Johns Hopkins history. His father, Dave Huntley, was also an All-American at Johns Hopkins. In 2008, Huntley was named Major League Lacrosse Rookie of the Year. Collegiate career Huntley won two national championships while playing with the Johns Hopkins Blue Jays.
