Huntington Township is one of twelve townships in Huntington County, Indiana. As of the 2020 census, its population was 20,326, making it the most populous township in the county. Huntington Township was organized in 1834. History The Chief Richardville House and Miami Treaty Grounds and Rangeline Road Bridge are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Geography According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of , of which (or 97.85%) is land and (or 2.15%) is water. Lakes in the township include Big Blue, Lake Clare, and the J. The Town of Huntington is one of ten towns in Suffolk County, New York. Founded in 1653, it is located on the north shore of Long Island in northwestern Suffolk County, with Long Island Sound to its north and Nassau County adjacent to the west. Huntington is part of the New York metropolitan area. As of the 2020 census, the town population was 204,127. Huntington is the only township in the United States to ban self-service gas stations at the township level and among the few places in the U.S. where full-service gas stations are compulsory and no self-service is allowed; the entire state of New Jersey and the western-Mid Valley portion of Oregon are the only other places in the country with similar laws. Huntington Township is a rural township which is located in Adams County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 2,369 at the time of the 2010 census. History Huntington Township is the oldest township in Adams County. It was founded in 1745. Latimore Township was formed out of Huntington Township in 1807. The Borough of York Springs was separated from Huntington in 1868, and functioned as a business, social and religious center for Huntington for centuries. Since the Civil War, Huntington Township has been a Republican stronghold due largely to its social conservatism and rural character. Republican candidates for office regularly obtain over 80% of the popular vote in general elections. Huntington Township is an American township which is in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. The population was 2,052 at the time of the 2020 census. History Huntington Township is located in western Luzerne County. This area is also known as the Wyoming Valley. In 1762, the Susquehanna Company attempted to settle the land. Company executives, who employed rough six hundred people from Windham County, Connecticut during this time, sent a number of their personnel to the modern-day counties of Luzerne, Lackawanna, Wyoming, Bradford, and Susquehanna to resettle there. Conflict with Native Americans in the region ensued, causing delays in those plans, which were also delayed further by the Revolutionary War (from 1775 to 1783). The first settler, John Franklin, came from Connecticut as one of the Susquehanna landowners.
