Hunstanton (Winnsboro, South Carolina)
Hunstanton, also known as Sweet Briar, is a historic plantation house located near Winnsboro, Fairfield County, South Carolina. It was built about 1850, and is a -story, rectangular, weatherboarded Greek Revival style frame residence on a raised brick basement. It has a rear ell and the front façade features a pedimented porch with paneled wooden pillars. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. Fairfield County is a county located in the U.S. state of South Carolina. As of the 2020 census, its population was 20,948. Its county seat is Winnsboro. The Greek Revival was an architectural movement which began in the middle of the 18th century but which particularly flourished in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, predominantly in northern Europe and the United States and Canada, but also in Greece itself following independence in 1832.
