Hunnewell, Kansas
Hunnewell is a city in Sumner County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population of the city was 44. History Hunnewell was founded in 1880. It was named for Boston financier and railway owner H. H. Hunnewell. Hunnewell served as a shipping point for Texas cattle, and was a prosperous cowtown during the 1880s. The Leavenworth, Lawrence and Galveston Railroad provided quick access to the Kansas City, Kansas stockyards, and the Kansas and Southeastern Railroad was built south from Hunnewell into Oklahoma in 1898. The town in its heyday had one hotel, two general stores, one barber shop, two dance halls, and eight saloons. With little more than railroad workers and cowboys, violence was common. There were no lawmen to speak of during the 1880s in or around that area, and typically cattle rustling and other crimes were dealt with by the ranchers themselves. Hunnewell is an unincorporated community in Greenup County, Kentucky, United States. History Hunnewell was a stop along the Eastern Kentucky Railway The Eastern Kentucky Railway was a railroad in northeastern Kentucky, United States. Hunnewell is a city in southeastern Shelby County, Missouri, United States. The population was 139 at the 2020 census. History Hunnewell was platted in 1857. The community was named for Boston financer and railroad promoter H. H. Hunnewell. A post office called Hunnewell has been in operation since 1880. Hunnewell Estates Historic District
The Hunnewell Estates Historic District is an historic district between the Charles River and Lake Waban in Wellesley and Natick, Massachusetts, about 17 miles west of Boston. It consists of the large group of 18th to 21st century agricultural and estate properties with farmland, gardens, residences, and landscapes of the Hunnewell and Welles families. The properties in the Historic District are still largely owned and occupied by members of the Hunnewell family.
