Hungary–Ukraine Border
The Hungary–Ukraine border is an internationally established boundary between Hungary and Ukraine. Ukraine inherited it from the Soviet Union. The current border was established after World War II when Zakarpattia Oblast was admitted into Ukraine, which at the time was part of the Soviet Union as the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic. The border stretches for along the Tisza river valley. After the admission of Hungary to the European Union, the border security became the responsibility of the union, as well. Hungary
Hungary ( hu, Magyarország ) is a landlocked country in Central Europe. Hungary–Ukraine relations refers to the bilateral relations between Hungary and Ukraine. The modern bilateral relationship between Hungary and Ukraine formally began in the early 1990s, after the end of communism in Hungary in 1989 and Ukrainian independence from the Soviet Union in 1991. Chop ( uk, Чоп, hu, Csap) is a railway station that is located in a small city of Chop, Zakarpattia Oblast in Ukraine. It is part of the Uzhhorod administration (Lviv Railways). General description The station is an important transportation hub and gateway to Ukraine. There are two border checkpoints: Strazh for Slovakia and Druzhba for Hungary. Barabás
Barabás is a village in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county, in the Northern Great Plain region of eastern Hungary. Jews settled in Barabás in the middle of the 19th century. The synagogue of the Orthodox community was built in 1910. There is a Jewish cemetery on the site. In 1944, after the German occupation, all the Jews of the village were deported to the Auschwitz extermination camp; only two of them survived after the war.
