Huna Totem Corporation (HTC) is a for-profit corporation formed under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA), enacted by the U.S. Congress on December 18, 1971. Alaska Native Regional Corporations, Regional and village corporations were formed under ANCSA, of which Huna Totem is one of the village corporations. Sealaska Corporation is the regional corporation for Southeast Alaska. Huna Totem Corporation was incorporated on November 9, 1973. Shareholders Huna Totem Corporation initially enrolled 876 shareholders and came to have over 1,350 shareholders, all of whom have aboriginal ties to the village of Hoonah, Alaska, Hoonah and Glacier Bay. The Alaska Native Regional Corporations were established in 1971 when the United States Congress passed the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA) which settled land and financial claims made by the Alaska Natives and provided for the establishment of 13 regional corporations to administer those claims. Hoonah, Alaska
Hoonah ( tli, Xunaa or ''Gaaw Yat’aḵ Aan'') is a largely Tlingit community on Chichagof Island, located in Alaska's panhandle in the southeast region of the state. It is west of Juneau, across the Alaskan Inside Passage. Hoonah is the only first-class city on Chichagof Island, the 109th-largest island in the world and the 5th-largest island in the U.S. At the 2020 census the population was 931, up from 760 in 2010. Icy Strait Point
Icy Strait Point is a privately owned tourist destination just outside the small village of Hoonah, Alaska. It is located on Chichagof Island and is named after the nearby Icy Strait. Owned by Huna Totem Corporation, it is the only privately owned cruise destination in Alaska, as most stops are owned by the cities in which they are located.
