Humphrey Maxegwana
Comely Humphrey Maqocwa Maxegwana is a South African politician who represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the National Assembly from 2014 until 2019, when he failed to gain re-election. Before that, he represented the ANC in the Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature. He was a prominent trade unionist in the Eastern Cape during apartheid and is also a former Provincial Secretary of the ANC's Eastern Cape branch. Apartheid-era activism After matriculating in 1974, Maxegwana was active in the South African Students' Movement and, from 1977, the Black People's Convention, both anti-apartheid organisations affiliated to the Black Consciousness movement. In 1977, he was recruited to the South African Congress of Trade Unions (SACTU); he was an underground operative for SACTU in East London and later worked closely with the South African Allied Workers' Union. Buffalo City is a metropolitan municipality situated on the east coast of Eastern Cape Province, South Africa. Skuta Alfred Mtsi ( 1950–1951 12 July 2020) was a South African politician who served as the mayor of Buffalo City, South Africa. Prior to his mayoral tenure he served as a member of the Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature and later served as the Speaker of the Buffalo City council before his death. Joyce Clementine Moloi-Moropa (born 13 May 1964) is a South African politician who has been the treasurer of the South African Communist Party (SACP) since 2012. She represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the National Assembly from 2008 to 2016 and before that from 2001 to 2004. She chaired Parliament's Portfolio Committee on Communications from 2014 until her resignation at the end of February 2016, and in that capacity she was frequently at odds with the communications ministry and board of the SABC. 2014 South African General Election
General elections were held in South Africa on 7 May 2014, to elect a new National Assembly and new provincial legislatures in each province. It was the fifth election held in South Africa under conditions of universal adult suffrage since the end of the apartheid era in 1994, and also the first held since the death of Nelson Mandela. Mzoleli Mrara is a South African politician who has represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature since 2009. He was formerly the Chief Whip of the Majority Party in the legislature from 2013 to 2018.
