Hume Central Secondary College is a co-educational public school located in Broadmeadows, Victoria, Australia. Hume Central was founded in the mid 2000s by the merger of underperforming Erinbank, Broadmeadows and Hillcrest Secondary Colleges. Curriculum Years 7–12 The senior program is built around skills, interests and career pathways. The curriculum is broader and more specialised than Years 7–9 and includes mathematics methods, specialist mathematics, physics, psychology, business management, studio arts, media studies, historical studies, health and human development and legal studies. Campuses Blair Street Campus The junior campus opened in 2009. The open-plan design of the buildings creates spaces that are flexible. A cafeteria is located in the central building. Erinbank Secondary College was a Victorian Government secondary college that closed in 2008. The college was located in Westmeadows a north-western suburb of Melbourne, Australia. Erinbank provided a comprehensive education from years 7 through to 12 offering both VCE and VCAL qualifications at Year 11 and 12 levels. Founded in the 1970s Erinbank Secondary College was originally known as Westmeadows Heights High School before being renamed Erinbank High School after the street that the school occupied. Erinbank ceased to exist after a merger with neighbouring schools Hillcrest and Broadmeadows Secondary Colleges. The merged schools formed Hume Central Secondary College. John Ilhan
John Ilhan (born Mustafa İlhan; 23 January 1965 – 23 October 2007) was a Turkish Australian businessman. He was the founder of Crazy John's mobile phone retail chain and, in 2003, was the richest Australian under 40 years of age. Early life and career Ilhan was born in 1965 in Yozgat, Turkey and migrated to Australia with his family when he was five. He grew up in working-class Broadmeadows in Melbourne's north-west. Here he attended Jacana Primary School and then Broadmeadows High School. Whilst at Jacana Primary he played in the school football, soccer and basketball teams. Christopher Lloyd Johnson (born 30 May 1976) is a former professional Australian rules footballer. His career highlights as an Australian Football League (AFL) player include three premierships with Brisbane, All-Australian selection, captain of the Australian International Rules team and inclusion in the Indigenous Team of the Century. Jose Michael Romero (born 1 August 1971 in Chile), is a former Australian rules footballer. Romero, who was recruited from Jacana, played in the VFL/AFL for both the North Melbourne FC and Western Bulldogs. Romero's family immigrated to Australia from Chile when he was aged 7.
