Humboldt Falls
Humboldt Falls is a waterfall located in the Hollyford Valley in the Fiordland district of New Zealand New Zealand ( mi, Aotearoa ) is an island country in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. In order to get to Hollyford Road, turn from the Milford Road. The trail back from the falls is about half an hour while it is 600 m long. Fiordland
Fiordland is a geographical region of New Zealand in the south-western corner of the South Island, comprising the westernmost third of Southland. Most of Fiordland is dominated by the steep sides of the snow-capped Southern Alps, deep lakes, and its steep, glacier-carved and now ocean-flooded western valleys. The name "Fiordland" comes from a variant spelling of the Scandinavian word for this type of steep valley, "fjord". The area of Fiordland is dominated by, and very roughly coterminous with, Fiordland National Park, New Zealand's largest National Park. Due to the often steep terrain and high amount of rainfall supporting dense vegetation, the interior of the Fiordland region is largely inaccessible. Hollyford River
The Hollyford River / Whakatipu Kā Tuka is in the southwest of the South Island of New Zealand. It runs for through Fiordland, its sources being close to the Homer Tunnel and in Gertrude Valley in the southern Darran Mountains. At first, the river flows southeast and east, coming as close as 1km to the east-west divide of the South Island, before continuing north through the glacier-formed Hollyford Valley. Near the end, the river passes through Lake McKerrow before reaching Martins Bay on the coast of the Tasman Sea north of Milford Sound. The Hollyford Track follows the river's course.
