Humay Award
Humay Award () was an Azerbaijani national achievement award, established in 1993 by the Baku International Cultural Society and was active until 2019. History The first award ceremony was held at the Gulustan Palace in March 1994. For the first three years, a ceramic figurine was presented as an award made by artist . Starting after the forth year, a bronze statuette was made by the artist . For the first few years, the Humay Award was awarded in only a few categories, including in music, cinema, theatre, fine arts, and literature. Subsequently, new nominations were added, including television, architecture, journalism, sport, tourism, “best music video”, book publishing, science, dance, "the art of national mugham”, "the art of photography", and "the best project in the Azerbaijani Internet". Gulustan Palace
Gulustan Palace ( az, Gülüstan sarayı), formerly known as Gulustan Wedding Palace Complex during the Soviet era is the main state convention center of the Azerbaijani government. It is located on Baku's highland, on Istiglaliyyat Street overlooking the whole city of Baku and Baku Bay. The palace serves as an official facility for governmental and non-governmental organizations holding various types of formal events. It is notable for having hosted important events such as significant oil and gas contracts, international and state conferences. History The Gulustan Palace began the process of construction in 1970 at the initiative of First Secretary Heydar Aliyev and the oversight of chief city architect Alish Lambaranski. Mugham
Mugham ( az, Muğam) or Mughamat ( az, Muğamat) is one of the many classical compositions from Azerbaijan, contrasting with tasnif and ashik. It is a highly complex art form that weds classical poetry and musical improvisation in specific local modes. Mugham is a modal system. Unlike Western modes, "mugham" modes are associated not only with scales but with an orally transmitted collection of melodies and melodic fragments that performers use in the course of improvisation. Mugham is a compound composition of many parts. The choice of a particular mugham and a style of performance fits a specific event. The dramatic unfolding in performance is typically associated with increasing intensity and rising pitches, and a form of poetic-musical communication between performers and initiated listeners. Yalchin Adigezalov
Yalchin Vasif oghlu Adigezalov ( az, Yalçın Vasif oğlu Adıgözəlov) is Azerbaijani conductor and teacher. People's Artist of Azerbaijan. Adigezalov is a professor at the State Music Academy of Azerbaijan, the Baku Music Academy and Azerbaijan State Conservatory. He is a member of the third generation of a famous musical dynasty. Alakbar Huseynov
Alakbar Huseynov ( az, Ələkbər Hüseynov; July 7, 1961 – August 2, 2007) was an Azerbaijani film, television and theater actor; a puppeteer; comedian; and theater director. He was the former head director of the Baku Puppet Theatre, and was a Honored Artist of Azerbaijan (2000). Huseynov was famous for his comedy roles, but also was the host of the children's television show, ''Each of Us is a Flower''. Career Huseynov was born in Baku, Azerbaijan. He graduated from the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts in 1982. He started his career in Shaki State Drama Theater. Since 1988 he is an actor of Baku Puppet Theatre; and from 2006 until 2007 he was the director of this theater. In 1994, Huseynov was a laureate of the Humay Award. Farman Gulamov
Farman Aviation Works (french: Avions Farman) was a French aircraft company founded and run by the brothers Richard, Henri, and Maurice Farman. They designed and constructed aircraft and engines from 1908 until 1936; during the French nationalization and rationalization of its aeronautical industry, Farman's assets were assigned to the ''Société Nationale de Constructions Aéronautiques du Centre'' (SNCAC). In 1941 the Farman brothers reestablished the firm as the "''Société Anonyme des Usines Farman''" (SAUF), but only three years later it was absorbed by Sud-Ouest. Maurice's son, Marcel Farman, reestablished the SAUF in 1952, but his effort proved unsuccessful and the firm was dissolved in 1956.
