Humans Of Bombay
''Humans of Bombay (HoB)'' is an Indian photoblog about people in Mumbai (previously known as Bombay). It was started in 2014 by Karishma Mehta. It is inspired by ''Humans of New York'' (HoNY). With her team, Mehta documents the stories of individuals and showcases it to the world through social media posts and a website. Development Inspired by the ''Humans of New York'' (HoNY) website, Karishma Mehta started ''Humans of Bombay'' in January 2014, by traveling around Mumbai and asking people questions about their lives and for permission to take and upload their photographs and their answers to her website. By April 2014, the Facebook page had more than 135 posts and almost 40,000 followers. By November 2015, the page had reached 4 lakh followers. By 2015, Mehta began using the page to conduct fundraising campaigns, including for Kranti, an organization that supports the daughters of sex workers, and collected Rs. 6.5 lakhs for Kranti in one day. A photoblog (or photolog) is a form of photo sharing and publishing in the format of a blog. It differs from a blog through the predominant use of and focus on photographs rather than text. Photoblogging (the action of posting photos to a photoblog) gained momentum in the early 2000s with the advent of the moblog and cameraphones. Boman Irani
Boman Irani (born 2 December 1959) is an Indian actor, photographer and voice artist who works predominantly in Hindi cinema he has also worked in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. He has acted in more than a 100 films in his career. Early life Irani was born on 2 December 1959, in Bombay (now Mumbai) to an Irani Zoroastrian family. ''The Indian Express'' is an English-language Indian daily newspaper founded in 1932. It is published in Mumbai by the Indian Express Group. 2019 Jamia Milia Islamia Attack
The Jamia Millia Islamia attack refers to the forceful entry by Delhi police into the Jamia Millia Islamia university during a confrontation with student protesters that started outside the campus on 15 December 2019. Hundreds of police officers forcefully entered the campus and detained more than a hundred students during the confrontation with the protesters. The police used batons and tear gas to disperse protesters. The police also entered the university library and washrooms and in the process of the violence ransacked parts of it. The visuals of students being dragged and assaulted by the police were telecast by news channels. About two hundred people were injured and were admitted to AIIMS and the Holy Family Hospital. Devika Rotawan is a survivor of the 2008 Mumbai attacks (also referred to as 26/11) and a key witness who identified Ajmal Kasab during trial as a perpetrator of the attack. She was 9 years old when she was shot in the leg during the attack in the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Mumbai.
