Human-centered Design
Human-centered design (HCD, also human-centred design, as used in ISO standards) is an approach to problem-solving commonly used in process, product, service and system design, management, and engineering frameworks that develops solutions to problems by involving the human perspective and emotion in all steps of the problem-solving process. Human involvement is recommended in (initial) context of use documentation, research, iterative development of concepts and design solutions, implementation work and evaluation. Human-centered design advocated active user involvement in different activities of the human-centered design. This is to prevent that only "hypothetical" user groups are defined without real data from users or that "made-up user feedback" in design activities is used. Initial stages of a human-centered design shall always address planning of the human-design activities for a project, including the integration of human-centered design into the overall project plan. ...

Stanford Joint Program In Design
The Joint Program in Design (officially Stanford Graduate Program in Product Design, colloquially Stanford Design Program) was a graduate program jointly offered by the Mechanical Engineering Department and the Art Department at Stanford University. It was discontinued with the last cohort of students graduating in Spring 2017 and is succeeded by the Stanford Design Impact Engineering Master's Degree. Design thinking refers to the set of Cognition, cognitive, strategic and practical procedures used by designers in the process of Design, designing, and to the body of knowledge that has been developed about how people reason when engaging with design problems. Mike Cooley (engineer)
Michael Joseph Edward Cooley (23 March 1934 – 4 September 2020) was an Irish-born engineer, writer and trade union leader, best known for his work on the social effects of technology, "Socially Useful Production" and "Human Centred Systems". He was involved in workplace activism at the British company Lucas Aerospace in the late 1970s. In 1981, he was a recipient of the Right Livelihood Award for "designing and promoting the theory and practice of human-centred, socially useful production." Cooley held several leadership positions in the field of computer-aided design (CAD) and was an advisor on numerous public and private sector projects.
