''Hum Bhi Insaan Hain'' () is a 1989 Indian Hindi-language masala film directed by Manivannan and produced by Suresh Bokadia. It stars Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Raj Babbar, Jaya Prada, Neelam and Sonam. It was given a superhit verdict at the box office. The film was a remake of the director's own Tamil film ''Muthal Vasantham''. Plot Dharampal presides over his palatial home and his family with dictatorial ruthlessness. His wife is terrified of him. His older daughter Radha would rather die than marry without his permission. Naturally, when his younger daughter, Rekha falls in love with a mere labourer, Bhola, this angers Dharampal to such an extent that he implicates Bhola for raping and abducting her, and forces her to testify against Bhola in court, and she does so. Manivannan
S. Manivannan Rajagopal (31 July 1953 – 15 June 2013), better known by his mononym Manivannan, was an Indian film director, actor and activist who worked mainly in Tamil cinema and also worked in a few Telugu & Malayalam films. In a career spanning three decades, he went from being a story and dialogue writer for director Bharathiraja from 1980–82 to a successful director who thrived in experimenting with different genres, before becoming an actor. With over 400 films to his name, Manivannan was one of the most experienced actors in the field and directed exactly 50 films. Manivannan was mainly a supporting actor in films and often played the comedian, supporting character and villainous roles. Amit Kumar (born 3 July 1952) is an Indian playback singer, actor, music composer. Kumar launched his own music production company, named Kumar Brothers Music. He predominantly worked in Bollywood and regional film songs since the 1970s, including 150 Hindi and Bengali compositions by R. D. Burman. After Burman's death in 1994, citing a lack of quality music composition, Kumar withdrew from playback singing and concentrated on live orchestra shows.
