Hum (sound)
A hum is a sound made by producing a wordless tone with the mouth closed, forcing the sound to emerge from the nose. To hum is to produce such a sound, often with a melody. It is also associated with thoughtful absorption, 'hmm'. A hum has a particular timbre (or sound quality), usually a monotone or with slightly varying tones. There are other similar sounds not produced by human singing that are also called hums, as the sound produced by machinery in operation, such as a microwave, or by an insect in flight. The hummingbird was named for the sound that bird makes in flight which sounds like a hum. ''Hum'' () is a 1991 Indian Hindi-language action crime film directed by Mukul S. Anand. It stars Amitabh Bachchan, Rajinikanth, Govinda, Kimi Katkar, Deepa Sahi, Shilpa Shirodkar, Danny Denzongpa, Anupam Kher and Kader Khan. This was the most successful film for the famous super star Bachchan in the early '90s before he announced his temporary retirement (for five years) immediately after its release. Hum (Eerie Wanda Album)
Eerie Wanda is the indie pop solo project by the Dutch–Croatian singer-songwriter Marina Tadic. Tadic started writing songs at age 14 when she got her first guitar, and takes an intuitive approach to making music. Various rotating musicians have been a part of the band, including members Jasper Verhulst on bass, Nic Niggebrugge on drums, keyboardist Jeroen de Heuvel, and Bram Vervaet on lead guitar. For their third album, Internal Radio', Adam Harding and producer Kramer were added. The project was initially formed when Jasper Verhulst, the bassist for Jacco Gardner and Altin Gün was sent early demo tapes created by Tadic. Verhulst subsequently started performing bass with her, and Eerie Wanda was eventually formed. Phan Văn Hùm (9 April 1902 – 1946) was a Vietnamese journalist, philosopher and revolutionary in French colonial Cochinchina who, from 1930, participated in the Trotskyist left opposition to the Communist Party of Nguyen Ai Quoc (Ho Chi Minh).
