Anniken Huitfeldt
Anniken Scharning Huitfeldt (born 29 November 1969) is a Norwegian historian and politician for the Labour Party. She has served as Minister of Foreign Affairs since 2021. She previously served as Minister of Children and Equality from 2008 to 2009, Minister of Culture from 2009 to 2012 and Minister of Labour and Social Inclusion from 2012 to 2013. Personal life She was born in Bærum as a daughter of public prosecutor Iver Huitfeldt (born 1943) and Sidsel Scharning (1940–1990). She has a sister, Astrid, and a brother, Anders. Arild Huitfeldt
Arild Huitfeldt (Arvid) (11 September 1546 – 16 December 1609) was a Danish historian and state official, known for his vernacular Chronicle of Denmark. Life Huitfeldt was born into an aristocratic family from Scania, part of the Kingdom of Denmark at the time. He was partly educated in Germany and France, made his career as a state official and was, from 1573 to 1580, First Secretary to the Danish Chancellery, the King's central administrative organ. From 1583 to his death he was also superintendent at Herlufsholm School, the first Danish boarding school. In 1586 he achieved his highest appointment, becoming ''Rigskansler'' ( Chancellor of the Realm, the very approximate equivalent to a modern Minister of Justice), until shortly before his death. Huitfeldt also owned several manor estates and handled a number of diplomatic assignments. Ivar Huitfeldt
Iver Huitfeldt (5 December 1665 – 4 October 1710) was a Dano-Norwegian naval officer who was killed in action, when he commanded the ship ''Dannebroge'' during Great Northern War 1700–1721. Biography Iver Huitfeldt was born in the Norwegian town of Halden. He lost his mother at the age of six and his father died six years later. Both his parents died in his childhood years and he was therefore later raised by his stepmother with whom he moved to the Norwegian area of Hurum. At the age of 16 he sent an application to Christian V of Denmark-Norway in which he applied to join the navy. It was granted and he started the trainee programme of the Dano-Norwegian navy. As a part of the trainee period he first served in the Dutch fleet before later joining the French fleet. He returned to do service in the Dano-Norwegian fleet in 1689 as a 24-year-old lieutenant, but in the following year he returned to do service in the Dutch navy to get more experience. Margareta Huitfeldt
Margareta Huitfeldt (5 November 1608 – 16 November 1683) was a Norwegian-Swedish noblewoman, estate owner and philanthropist. She was the prime benefactor of Hvitfeldtska gymnasiet in Gothenburg, Sweden. Biography Margareta Huitfeldt was born at the Skjelbred farm in the parish of Fiskum in the district of Eiker in Buskerud, Norway. She was the only child of the Danish noble Hartvig Andersen Huitfeldt (1582-1637) and Norwegian noble Bente Jonsdotter Schack (ca.1594-1622). In 1635, she married Danish noble Thomas Iverssön Dyre (1605–1651). Of their three children, only their son Iver Dyre (1644-1663) lived past infancy. She became one of the greatest land owners in Scandinavia as the heir of her parents and her spouse. Most of her properties were situated in Bohuslän, at that time a province of Norway. Povel Huitfeldt
Povel Ottesen Huitfeldt (Povel Huitfeldt, Pouel Huitfeldt or Paul Huitfeldt, ca 1520 - 21 September 1592) was the first Danish-Norwegian Governor-general of Norway. Background He was born circa 1520. His parents were Otte Clausen Huitfeldt til Krumstrup, Skibelundgaard og Lørup (who died between 1517 and 1529) and Barbara Eriksdatter Blaa (who died before 1558). Christoffer Huitfeldt (ca. 1501-1559) and Peder Huitfeldt (died 1584) were his brothers. On 4 February 1554 he married Margrethe Breide, the daughter of Hans Breide and Thale Emmiksdatter. Early career Huitfeldt was the youngest of the four Huitfeldt brothers who eventually came to Norway; around 1548 he was with his brother Christoffer, the bailiff at Bergenhus Fortress in Bergen. Huitfeldt (noble Family)
Huitfeldt is a Norwegian noble family. Name and origin Huitfeldt is originally an old Danish noble family. It came to Norway around 1581 with Anders Huitfeldt (ca. 1555–1620). In 1582 he married Margrete Pedersdatter Litle, the daughter of Peder Hansen Litle, officer in command at Akershus Fortress, and Ingeborg Nilsdatter Gyllenløve. Anders Huitfeldt became the owner of the seat farm Tronstad (''Tronstad Gård'') in Hurum in Buskerud, which for 220 years remained in the family's possession. In Denmark, the family's certainly documented paternal line goes back to Henrik Nielsen (fl. 1429) in Ventofte on Funen. During the Middle Ages, the family used the name ''Hogenskild''. The ''Iver Huitfeldt'' class is a three-ship class of air defence frigates that entered service with the Royal Danish Navy in 2012 and 2013. Description The class is built on the experience gained from the Absalon-class support ship, ''Absalon''-class frigates, and by reusing the basic hull design of the ''Absalon'' class, the Royal Danish Navy has been able to construct the ''Iver Huitfeldt'' class considerably cheaper than comparable ships.
