Huirapuca Social Club
Club Huirapuca SC, is an Argentine sports club from Concepción, Tucumán. Founded in 1953, the club is mostly known for its rugby union team. Huirapuca is also the largest sports club in Tucumán Province, outside of the capital San Miguel de Tucumán. History Huirapuca was founded in the small town of Concepción, Tucumán on June 3, 1953. Playing in the Parque de la Joven Argentina, at the north of the city, the club had to share its installations with the local aeroclub, and playing fields were often used as a landing strip. Today the clubs owns more than 13 hectares of installations, making it the largest Tucumán club outside of the capital San Miguel. Today around twenty different disciplines are practiced at the club, most notably rugby union, basketball, softball and field hockey. Huirapuca launched its rugby programme in 1975. Concepción is a city and the department seat of Chicligasta in Tucumán Province, Argentina. It is located 76 km south of the provincial capital San Miguel de Tucumán and has a population of 49,782 (). Due to its population and bustling commercial activity, the city is considered to be the second most important urban area in the province (the first one being the Greater San Miguel de Tucumán region), and the main one in southern Tucumán. The Tucuman Rugby Union ( es, Unión de Rugby de Tucumán) or URT is the organisational body that controls the game of rugby union in the province of Tucumán Province, Tucumán, Argentina. Torneo Del Noroeste
The Torneo Regional del NOA (NorOeste Argentino – Argentine North-West), also known as Torneo del Noroeste, is a regional rugby union competition in Argentina. Originally, only clubs from the Tucumán RU took part. In successive editions the competition added clubs from the unions of Salta, Jujuy and Santiago del Estero. This yearly tournament has traditionally been dominated by Tucumán clubs. Clubs from the other 3 provinces have yet to win a title. Universitario is the most successful team, with 23 titles won to date. Tucumán () is the most densely populated, and the second-smallest by land area, of the provinces of Argentina. San Miguel de Tucumán (; usually called simply Tucumán) is the capital and largest city of Tucumán Province, located in northern Argentina from Buenos Aires. Softball
Softball is a game similar to baseball played with a larger ball on a smaller field. Softball is played competitively at club levels, the college level, and the professional level. Field Hockey
Field hockey is a team sport structured in standard hockey format, in which each team plays with ten outfield players and a goalkeeper. Teams must drive a round hockey ball by hitting it with a hockey stick towards the rival team's shooting circle and then into the goal. The match is won by the team that scores the most goals. Matches are played on grass, watered turf, artificial turf, synthetic field, or indoor boarded surface. The stick is made of wood, carbon fibre, fibreglass, or a combination of carbon fibre and fibreglass in different quantities. Torneo Del Interior
The Torneo del Interior A is an annual rugby union competition in Argentina. The competition involves clubs from all provincial unions outside Buenos Aires. Teams qualify from different tournaments along the provinces of Argentina, such as Litoral, Noroeste, Córdoba, Nordeste, Pampeano, Oeste and Patagónico. There are also two lower divisions of Torneo del Interior, "Interior B" and "Interior C", with a similar format. Overview The original tournament was held from 1998 to 2004, being re-launched in 2009, in an effort to bring provincial clubs to the same level as the teams from Buenos Aires. Buenos Aires clubs do not participate in this competition so they take part in the Top 12 organised by the URBA.
