Count Hugo Erik Gustaf Hamilton (21 August 1849 – 27 January 1928) was a Swedish politician, Minister for Civil Service Affairs between 1907–1921 and the eight Speaker of the Riksdag, Speaker of Första kammaren of the Riksdag. Biography Hugo Erik Gustaf Hamilton was born on 21 August 1849 on Blomberg, Götene, Blomberg, Husaby, Skaraborg County to county governor count Adolf Ludvig Hamilton and Johanna Ulrika Agnes Geijer. He took his jurist grade from Uppsala University in 1878. He was a member of the city council of City of Stockholm in 1888—1893 and 1896—1900 Hamilton was a member of Andra kammaren in 1891–1893 and 1897–1901. On 31 March 1900, he became List of governors of Gävleborg County, Governor of Gävleborg County, which he was until 18 September 1918. The Minister for Civil Service Affairs ( sv, Civilminister), since 2010 called Minister for Public Administration, is a member of the Government of Sweden. The minister for civil service affairs was the head of the Ministry for Civil Service Affairs from 1840 to 1996. It was reintroduced as a minister without portfolio post in 2010. Its tasks includes government procurement and an overall responsibility for municipalities and regions. Skaraborg County
Skaraborg County ( sv, Skaraborgs län ) was a county of Sweden from 1634 until 1997. It was disestablished at the end of 1997 when it was merged with the counties of Gothenburg and Bohus and Älvsborg to form Västra Götaland County. The county was named after a fortress () outside the city of Skara. The seat of residence for the county governor was Mariestad from 1660 onwards and the largest city (during the 20th century) was first Lidköping and later Skövde. The county consisted of the northeastern part of the province of Västergötland. Husaby
Husaby is a village, near Kinnekulle, belonging to Götene Municipality in the province of Västergötland, Sweden. Husaby Church Husaby is most known for Husaby Church (''Husaby kyrka'') a medieval stone church. During the early 11th century, it was a wooden church. A little later, the original church was replaced by the current stone church. The tower was built in the late 11th century and in the early 12th century the stone church. Olof Skötkonung (c. 980–1022), the first Christian king of Sweden, is rumoured to have allowed himself to be baptised at a well by the church in 1008 possibly by English missionary Saint Sigfrid of Sweden.
