Hugh Goddard
Hugh Goddard (born 24 August 1996) is an Australian rules footballer who formerly played for the and football clubs in the Australian Football League (AFL). AFL career Goddard a second cousin of former St Kilda player and former Essendon captain and player Brendon Goddard. He was drafted as pick 21 in the 2014 AFL draft. He grew up in Geelong and attended Melbourne Grammar School as a boarder. He made his debut in round 16 of the 2015 AFL season in St Kilda's loss against , playing alongside former Geelong Falcons teammate Paddy McCartin. In just his ninth game (and first for the 2016 season), Goddard suffered an achilles tendon injury in the Saints' 88-point loss to at the Adelaide Oval in Round 11, ending his season and ensuring that he would spend the next twelve months on the sidelines. Geelong Falcons
The Geelong Falcons is a youth Australian rules football representative club in the NAB League, the Victorian statewide under-18s competition, Victoria, Australia. The club takes in talented junior players from the Geelong, Colac and Warrnambool regions in order to prepare them for AFL selection. There is an under-15 V-Line cup side and an under-16 side, but the club's main focus is its under-18 side, who play a longer season. In 2007, Jimmy Bartel became the first ex-Falcon to win the AFL Brownlow Medal, for the league's best and fairest player, while Jonathan Brown became the first ex-Falcon to win the Coleman Medal for the most goals in the season. Adelaide Oval is a sports ground in Adelaide, South Australia, located in the parklands between the city centre and North Adelaide. Northern Blues
The Preston Football Club, which trades and plays as the Northern Bullants, is a long-established Australian rules football club based in Preston that plays in the Victorian Football League (VFL). It plays its home games at the Preston City Oval. The club was established in 1882 as the Preston Football Club. The club participated in the Victorian Football Association (VFA) between 1903 and 1911, and then since 1926. After World War II, the club was known as the Bullants, and wore a plain red guernsey with a white monogram. The club later became the Northern Bullants. 2016 AFL Season
The 2016 AFL season was the 120th season of the Australian Football League (AFL), the highest level senior Australian rules football competition in Australia, which was known as the Victorian Football League until 1989. The season featured eighteen clubs, ran from 24 March until 1 October, and comprised a 22-game home-and-away season followed by a finals series featuring the top eight clubs.
